***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

here's what I got based on this video:

the iPhone video quality is better than the Nexus but not as much as I thought it would be. However, the iPhone destroys the Nexus when it comes to stabilization/smoothness which is pretty important and the colors are much more natural on the iPhone.
What surprised me the most in this video is how amazing the audio quality from the Nexus was. The way the iPhone beats the Nexus in video department is the same way the Nexus beats the iPhone in the sound department.

Question:

Just wondering if this confirms that 4.1 will not come at launch?
Oh, Im sure like all the other Verizon related press materials regarding the Gnex, this was drafted weeks ago. They knew all along they were going to string us along:rolleyes:

Sorry, no photoshop, ygti.

BabyBlues has been spared!

But yeah, the all white box, with Phil's tweet that it's not a retail box, leaves me puzzled.

Why would a Verizon store be in possession of a non-retail box?

I actually liked the color saturation on the Nexus better.

As far as the "choppiness", I'm assuming this can be tweaked or fixed with an update. The Nexus is probably overcompensating when it comes to digital stabilization. If you noticed when the phone was kept real steady, it was very smooth.

i still think people are having a hard time grasping the idea of sleeved packaging!

I'm pretty sure that white box is the inner box and yes the barcode on the end but everything else (designs, logos, etc) on the sleeve.

let me say this again since this thread is moving a thousand miles a minute.... where was it said that box is actually in a retail store? the original source on xda didnt say it was specifically in a store... just wondering why that assumption is being made over and over again?

Anyone else email Jeffrey Nelson? Below is the e-mails i got from him but i removed my email address and put it in time order. long story short, no news to speak of;

Jeffrey,

Can you please let the people who make decisions on when press releases are sent out that the wait for the Galaxy Nexus is driving a good amount of your customers crazy? We haven't heard anything "official" since 10/21, and the little tease in your PR today is just nuts. Is the phone coming out this week? If so could you at least give us the courtesy of that information in a press release?

Jeff,

A canned response? That's not cool. Will it come out this week?

How do we REALLY know it came from a Verizon store:eek:

yeah taking a second look at the video, I think i'm starting to like the colors on the Nexus more. and I hope you're right about the update.

Just went through a bunch of unboxings, Thunderbolt, Bionic, RAZR, Charge. Verizon really likes to use sleeves.

My thoughts? They are for their "specialist"? Doesn't each store have a specialist with the device that has to be familiar with it in and out?

@garbageduck - lol did you expect him to respond with a release date? Come on man!

i KNEW he wouldn't but i felt forced to try after that tease in his press release today...

Maybe I shouldn't have gone on saturday to try the phone, it made me want it MORE hehe

:::taps mic... is this thing on??:::

exactly what i have been saying since the pictures come out. droid-life, phandroid, a lot of people in this thread jumped to the conclusion that the unit photographed was in a store, but the original post on xda says nothing like that. in fact, it doesnt say anything other than they are being shipped to stores this week, meaning to me that those photos are from a warehouse and stores havent received them yet.
