One or two times per day, I check my Dinc only to find that it has shut itself off.

I start to get mad at my Dinc and then at Verizon and then...

I end up just being grateful to Verizon that they actually released my Dinc.

Hurry up GNex; my Dinc is dying!


I hear ya. I don't get random shut off but I get a LOT of force closes because things have stopped responding
 
Hey guys is there a different number to call for "Customer Care" as opposed to "Customer Service"? I coulda swore there was but I cant find one...

My question is how does Apple go about announcing and releasing their phones shortly after announcing them? What do they do differently? And why don't companies follow their lead?

It's apple. What they say goes. Carriers have very little control over the iphone which is why updates come from apple and not verizon/at&t and has always been that way. If you had a phone that was considered a disappointment and sold over 4 million the 1st weekend you would have that kind of power too.

Let me start by saying that I understand that these are in fact "training" materials. And it looks like we have the docs for indirect retailers too. What I find most interesting though is that training docs had actually been out for a while. Training docs- meaning an introduction to the phone and features. While these docs do basically the same, they go further. I would consider these to be more sales related than tech related. With all those point-of-sale tips and rebuttals in the document this is to gear up for sales, not to just familiarize their staff with the phone.

What is multiple account trolling mischief? I am sorry if this seems ignorant but I don't understand what it is. BTW, I am rooted and I have flashed many different ROMs so I not a total newbie to phone lingo; I only have one gmail account though.
 
It must be getting close....my 2 year old droid incredible which has worked flawlessly since day 1 of the release, seems to be having trouble accepting a charge today.....:cool::cool:

Following the trend of calling CSR's i went 2/5 today:

Store 1: Yes, as of now, we will have it on sale on the 9th...
Store 2: No, we don't even have that phone in stock...
Store 3: No, we haven't heard anything yet...
Store 4: Yes, as of now, we have scheduled it for sale on the 8th...
Store 5: No, the only info we have from Verizon is that it will be $199.99...

So I gave my name and number to Store 1 & 4 CSR's and they promised to call as soon as they have the phone in or any other information! I know it's a mixed bag of responses, so its not too reliable...but I sure do hope to have my Nexus by this weekend!
 
Well, I need a pick-me-up, so I'm going to go get my case from the mail. Maybe I'll carry that around in my pocket tonight to get a feel for the size of the device in jeans. :)
 
What I find funny is that some dude who knows nothing about the Nexus, or this thread, or all the characters here will walk into a Verizon store some day and purchase a Nexus on the exact same day as people who have literally wasted hours and days refreshing this site hoping to be the first to get news. There's something very ironic about that. Not certain of the significance of that, but I'm sure there's a life lesson in there somewhere.

How many times do i have to say this you increase the date of the new rumor by 2 weeks, not a week. Thus the new of the nexus being released is the 22nd.. THE END :)

Did anyone see my post about the possible loophole in this "eat my phone" promise? He could just send his testing phone to the person he said that to, putting it "in their hands" ... NOT THAT I'M HOPING HE HAS TO DO THAT... OMG I want this phone to come out yesterday and I have no information that leads me to believe that he needs to send his phone... just think that if he's going to, he should ship it soon... or maybe overnight, to be safe.

Not to harp on this subject (because that's probably exactly what they wanted in the first place), but didn't everyone see Steven's PSA about this person posting from questionable IP addresses (e.g. from a known banned former member)?

Why are people still apologizing for this person when the staff here has found they were, for all intents and purposes, trolling? Or did I mis-read Steven's PSA? I'll go back and find it now...

Kate... you must have missed Steven's post about him being called out as a fraud by his IP address.

i still think that some people were being unnecessarily rude and childish, but that's just my opinion (if they're a troll, we don't need to sink to their level)...

Oh wow. I didn't know all that. So, you've worked in customer service, for a couple months at a time, for 4 years maximum?

Hmmm ... well, I've worked customer service full time for nearly 20 years. There is one particular question that I get asked multiple times every day. I can tell you, without equivocation, that my demeanor can sometimes reach to discouraging at best.

All I'm saying is that if people would stop harassing the CSRs that they wouldn't have to worry about one being nasty to to them when all they are doing is basically wasting their time ( and believe me, that's exactly how the CSRs see it ).

You're a part of this forum so you will know, probably within hours, when the Gnex is for sale. I'm sure you'll get one in the first batch - which, face it, is what everyone harassing these CSRs really wants.

My whole point is that everyone needs to chill out ( I've said it before on MULTIPLE occasions ). The Gnex will be here when it is here. Not a second before and calling vzwcs or poking around in stores will not change that. It's been stated that the Gnex will drop before the end of the year. Please, I implore you and all the others ... take that to mean anytime before 1/1/12. When it drops this week or next, you'll be pleasantly surprised.


I am sorry the first sentence seems laden w/ sarcasm about the amount of time the original poster has spent as a CSR. I admit hard to read sarcasm from post so I apologize if I misinterpretted.

In regards to 'harassing' CSR/Sales People this is my personal take on my personal situation. We combined households and I have ATT and the miss has VZW and both plans are good family plans w/ grandfathered data/msg/minutes etc. My daughter and I were the only hold outs on ATT so when we fulfilled our contract and thought we would shop at VZW see if there were any phones we liked and would jump onto the other family plan. At the store the sales person tried to set me up w/ the Razor and my daughter too (she liked the bionic though purely for feel in hand). I didn't like the Razor and told the sales person I really like the Galaxy line (was debating on staying w/ ATT for the skyrocket) to which he advised they didn't have that but the Nexus would be released in the next few weeks. What the heck, signed my daughter up and I can wait a few weeks, then a few more weeks, and now a month later what?

So, yes I will keep 'bugging' the CSR's and the corporate store whenever the itch occurs (once or twice a week usually) and if they get annoyed that is their problem. I was given information that directed a decision I made and if they don't like all the inquiries they should find a different job w/ a different company....their annoyance should be projected at their companies policies not the customer.

If others feel that they want to call their 5 local stores everyday for their reasons that is their business but I personally can't condone that.
