As I'm putting my shoes on to go check the mail, my wife asks me where I'm going. "To go get the mail, my case should be here." She says "I just checked the mail, there were no packages".

At that point I was like:

:eek: :mad:

But then I checked anyway...and sure enough it was there. The mail in there was from Saturday :)

So here's a few pics of the TPU (Diztronic now) matte black case, and a pic of it side by side my Dinc case. The size looks huge, but the case doesn't feel that bad in my pocket (*phew*).

As for the case, it seems nice, though I don't like that the matte is only on the inside/back of the case. The lip/ring around the front of the device is a glossier rubber material. I'd have preferred the look of matte and it makes for an annoying seam. But it definitely comes in/out of the pocket easily and feels like it has decent enough grip to avoid slides.

Now if I could just get the phone to put in it..... :rolleyes:

I'm also plenty mad at everyone involved. But I think a big problem here was the GSM version was ready(er) to release and the LTE version (for whatever reason) was not ready to release. Google/Samsung probably thought they had two choices: wait until the LTE version was ready before doing a world-wide launch and potentially lose a lot of customers to the readily-available iPhone, or go ahead and release the GSM version to try and generate some sales and buzz while they finished the LTE version for a U.S. launch.

Granted, it would have been REALLY nice to have the LTE model ready at the same time as the GSM one. But it wasn't, and it is what it is. Hopefully they know better next time. (Actually, I could care less about next time because I expect to get the full 2-year lifespan out of my G-Nex....)

i hate that i have been bragging about the GNex to every single person that bought a 4S, razr, or rezound, but still have nothing to show for it. at this point i wish i had just kept my big mouth shut. it would have saved a lot of "so what about that Galaxy Nexus thing" conversations. :o

Can you tell us who they were / what posts were fake? So we know what sources may or may not have been real, etc...?
 
Costco question?

I have a corporate/company employee (not Verizon) 20% discount. The Kiosk told me it will still be there if I go through them. Basically they just continue or renew the current contract.

Anyone experience this?

Thanks for the detailed clarification Early. Will there be any mention of what discussions were fraudulent? Pretty sure there are some here that are savvy enough and have enough free time and ambition to figure it out. But with all the misinformation that makes the rounds would it be healthy to disclose that information with us? I'm curious- not that its imperative.

edit: most of us will be aware of at least one of the scenarios removed. But if there is other information that people will be referencing as fact that you guys have discovered as being part of this fraudulent user mess, it may be of interest to us to know.Just to avoid future confusion. Thanks

The BestBut Mobile guy I talked to this weekend swore up and down they would have it for sale the 11th. I grilled him, he said the info came from Verizon. He sounded absolutely sure of it. So unless something major changed I'm sticking w/ the 11th as the latest.

early can you tell us which rumors and what not were faked? That way we can know what to consider, without having to go back and see whats missing

Thanks! My case was supposedly picked up on 11/26 from Diztronic, according to the USPS...I figured it must be coming via pony express to be taking this long.

Sadly, I think my case is going the route of the olympic torch run. There are going to be some tired postal carriers between Wisconsin and New Jersey.

From what you're saying it was a CSR and not a manager correct? This individual could just be a jerk playing a game with you (This is possible but would be a very very cold move. One which you could easily get her canned over.) Secondly, she could just be misinformed or basing this on rumor. In which case, if you go to this midnight "release" and it turns out to be false, I'd go straight in to the manager once the store does open- because you got burned by someone in a position who should have behaved in a more professional manner. Her actions may have been with good intent but lacking any substance. Of course, she could be right, and she has the dirt that no one else is willing/able to share. Tread carefully.

I don't think she's going off rumors, at least not from the net, someone higher then her gave her the ok to do this. Just the day before, she specifically warned me about believing all the rumors you hear on the net.
The thing that really makes me believe it is legit, is the fact that she was feeling me out about the "midnight release", She said that she "thinks its a go", her exact words, because she's talked to enough people that were "in". This makes complete sense....if your gonna open the doors at midnight, you better damn well be sure somebody is gonna be there, and that's exactly what it sounded to me like they were trying to figure out.

What I mean by this is that the only thing she seemed to be unsure about was whether they were going to do a midnight release or not.

Yeah my friends keep asking about it too, always have to tell them "oh it's coming out this week" :mad:
