good to hear that....I was honestly expecting to get on here and see that my story was about the 100th like it to get told in the last hour...even pm'd steven to see if it would just be old news because I have been away since early afternoon, I am pretty disappointed to here mine as the only story like this!!!! Dang it, you guys are starting to get me questioning my euphoric mood!!!!! LOL

On new phone release days, can Verizon stores start selling the new phones as soon as they open? The reason I ask is because a Verizon corporate store located in downtown Minneapolis opens at 8am whereas most other Verizon corporate stores in the area open at 9am. I was just wondering if the downtown location would have to wait until 9am to be fair?

As long as they aren't doing some weird thing like they did with the 11:11 for the razr yes they can and will sell as soon as they open.
 
So after I spoke to the CenturyLink reps earlier (earlier post), I called around to all the local verizon corporate stores, 2 of them told me that they'd have them in by Friday opening, the third one said that they had heard by Friday but that they wouldn't know for sure until the day before if they were getting them in stock.

So I decided to kick it up a notch, and I called my Verizon business rep to see under the guise of asking about our business lines/upgrades/etc.. and found out she had been promoted and was no longer the rep for our hospital and was at a different office location now. While she was finding the new contact for me I asked her about the GNex and her response was just a casual "Oh yeah, that's supposed to be in on Friday I think." She then gave me the number for my new business rep and I called him under the same guise (just asking questions about the phones on our plan, etc) and then brought up the GNex with him, he didn't seem to want to say anything at all about it until I said that the other rep (I'll just call her "S") had said that it was going to be on Friday, his response was "Oh? Hmm hold on a sec" and set the phone down and came back a minute later to say that there was a galaxy nexus event scheduled for Friday but not to hold him to that too much, as he doesn't know too much about what all that entailed or who all might have it in stock.

Also sorry that was so long winded, I'm tired and kind of rambling incoherently. Kids are eating dinner, finally got a break to post this.. kind of half here lol.. But that's all the info I was able to glean today.

I take this as confirmation...I don't see how it isn't!! but only time will tell, ohh, and BTW, this is the same rep that has given me the standard, "coming out later this year for two weeks now, including just yesterday. She herself called everything speculation yesterday when I talked to her on the phone.

actually we heard many stories of an 8th/9th release.....we're just skeptical is all

I think most if not all the orders I've heard of being cancelled were Gray. I ordered Champagne from Amazon and have not got a cancellation notice. To cover myself I also ordered on Bestbuy and Adromana.

Rep - to summarize, she tells me that everything I've heard is speculation that there is nothing in their system. She would advise me get it from store because avidently some people who preordered iphone, didn't actually get theirs at launch, yada yada yada, yesterday she knows nothing...

Today,
get voicemail from here to call her...

call her and basically she is feeling me out to see if I'd be interested in a midnight launch, she tells me that she got the spare battery charger kit in today, makes an appointment for me at midnight, then specifically tells me that as of right now it's an informal announcement??? I don't see why this wouldn't be confirmation????

I mean am I that naive, have store reps done this to people before????

Well all this churn was getting me down, so while running some errands I stopped by my local Verizon Corp store (Westlake Village, CA)...

I asked a rep about the Galaxy Nexus he with no hesitation said the 8th, and followed that up saying they have no phones or accessories but they are staffing up for a release on the 8th. Based on his experience he felt like they'd get the phones etc on the 7th and that I should definitely call back then. Apparently he is also planning to get one and eagerly anticipating the release.

I realize he's probably reading the blogs and less as in the know as we are, but none-the-less it certainly raised my spirits hearing him so sure :)

It means that we've completed gathering forensics and are now removing accounts from our forums that were made only to create mischief in this thread.

Some of the arguments here have been sock puppets (two accounts, same person) caring out a conversation with themselves and inciting others to riot over who is credible as a source for what.

Some are already banned, others will be shortly.

You may see various posts removed, quotes change by mods, posts edited.

We'll do our best to keep the chaos to minimum.

I cannot confirm or deny that the sort of thing you're going through has happened in the past, though I doubt its common if it does.

From what you're saying it was a CSR and not a manager correct? This individual could just be a jerk playing a game with you (This is possible but would be a very very cold move. One which you could easily get her canned over.) Secondly, she could just be misinformed or basing this on rumor. In which case, if you go to this midnight "release" and it turns out to be false, I'd go straight in to the manager once the store does open- because you got burned by someone in a position who should have behaved in a more professional manner. Her actions may have been with good intent but lacking any substance. Of course, she could be right, and she has the dirt that no one else is willing/able to share. Tread carefully.
