Dear Sara-

Please come to bed.

This is the only way I can get through to you now that you are constantly reading this thread and ignoring your family. The kids and I miss you... ;)

-Your loving husband

p.s. I can't wait for my gn either!!!

i can't find it, but this reminds me of an old web comic that depicted WoW orphans back when it first launched. :p

FWIW...just to feed the 12/8 or 12/9 rumor mill a bit more...I stopped by my local Verizon retailer inquiring about the GNex and after it was looked up on the computer it stated a launch day of black friday...haha...we all laughed a bit as we know that didn't happen...they 3 reps all stated they've already taken the online training but haven't heard anything else...i asked them to call me if they get any in stock and they decided to call their "stock Lady" ...the one thing i found interesting is I only told them i heard rumors it might be out this week with no specific date given...but during the phone conversation he paused and told me "it should be here on the 8th or 9th"...I gave them all a coupon for the restaurant i work at for being so friendly and helpful...crosses fingers and hope they're right!!! :D

Feed away! Thx!

Alrighty. I've had my doubts and I still remain skeptical until there is some form of official confirmation, but things ARE beginning to line up. I'm actually beginning to feel some sense of relief that a release is near. It looks very probable that those who were questioning that simple white box (including me) have to look at the new images leaked and reconsider that skepticism. Right now all evidence leads me to believe I was wrong.

I don't think VZW will just throw the phones on the shelves and expect them to sell, as has been mentioned somewhere (maybe here I don't recall). If the Nexus DOES go on sale Thursday or Friday we'll at least get a press release followed by some weekend ad blitzing. Its also still a very good possibility that the stores are getting stocked this week for a launch early next week. If that is the case, we'll see the standard pre-launch ad campaign. So it boils down to which of these two theories you believe:

A) VZW is going to basically let the Nexus sell itself. Meaning it will launch immediately the end of this week with minimal advertising and either no to short pre-order period.

B) VZW really wants to give this phone a chance to succeed and will give a short pre-launch ad campaign while stores are getting fully prepared for the launch (including pre-order period lasting 4days or so).

Of course the caveat here is that those could both be wrong and there is another scenario that plays out.

This is why I love my job. I just told my boss - "hey, you know that phone I've been waiting for? It's supposed to be out Friday. So I'll probably be into work late that morning" :)

on business travel this week until thursday. this also happens to be an off-friday week. launch on 12/9 is perfect :D

i love having 3-day wknds every other week.

I knew from the beginning that Google Wallet wouldn't be on the phone but it still bugs me.

Carriers are really overstepping their boundaries and I wish the public would wake up and realize that, but that will never happen.

You don't go to Best Buy and buy a computer that only works on Comcast Xfinity, or AT&T DSL, or Verizon Fios. The computer I buy will work on any internet connection I have so should phones be any different?

Chevy and BP don't make deals where I can only use BP gas in my Chevy pick-up. Why do carriers think they should be any different? But I have to use ISIS on my phone because they tell me to, I'm not allowed to make that decision for myself.

Mine just came today... I like it so far.. soft touch but not rubbery and it flexs too
I would totally get this case too but I don't like how there isn't a cutout for the volume rocker. May not be a big deal for some but I don't like that "mushy" feeling...may leave the phone naked until a case with the volume cutout becomes available.

If I understand this correctly, if I get the Galaxy Nexus this Friday, I'll get 4GB for $30. Right? Because of the double data promo going on. Sure hope it doesn't expire or exclude it or anything stupid like that. IDK how much data I'll be using, but if I can get it doubled for free, then all the better. Then once I'm locked in at the 4GB for $30, then it wont change unless I change it, right?

You could always modify it

Actually there is a major precedent to this which you may not be aware of. Radio - which was by no coincidence the first form of major mass communication. And much like radio back in the day, cell phones use different frequencies, which is where this issue comes about. there is no frequency issue with internet or computer or gas, so those are not comparable. I know what you're getting at, and I agree with the concept, it is a pain, but you have to remember that relatively speaking, we are dealing with a new form of tech when it comes to cell phones and LTE on top of that. Just like radio, it will get streamlined and regulated so that this sort of thing isn't an issue.

if you trust your steady hand, an exacto knife would cut that out perfectly. i was worried about the same thing. but as others have said this is a solid case with a real soft hand.

Yes you are correct as long as you keep it and do not change it you are fine.

I do know there were no commercials before the Rezound launched Nov 14th, but since the day it launched I see commercials all the time.

Now the Razr had commercials before it launched but that's because Motorola is special.

I haven't really had a theory concerning anything GN, but I'll bite.

I don't believe VZ cares about the GN "succeeding" at all. So answer A)

I have some questions cause I want this phone!

1 - Anyone know if the 2 for 4GB plan will end when the galaxy nexus comes out?
2 - If the 2 for 4GB plan does end the day preceding the nexus launch...if I were to order another phone and not activate/unbox it and then stroll into verizon, could I exchange phones without $35 restocking fee (Talked with CSR's and they have different opinions)
3 - Does anyone know about Verizon's policy on transferring phone from single-user to family plan? I canceled an old line to order one of Amazon's $0.01 phones on the assumption it took 24 hours to port phone number and delete contract. Fate had it that the family line I'd been on had 5 lines (including the deleted line) and the deleted line doesn't fall off until the end of the billing cycle (Dec. 18th ;( ) Of course there had to be a max of 5 lines per family plan, now I am stuck in no-man's land :/

Sadly at this point, there are still only a handful of people that really know the answer to questions like these hahaha.

This week or next- that is the first time during this whole drama, which this thought went through my mind and I actually believed it.

I asked about this deal recently and I was told:
1) Only valid on lines with an LTE device (not an issue for your example)
2) Sale was extended at least through end of year
3) Was good for the 2-year contract after which it could revert to 2GB.

Regarding #3, my opinion is that this will work like a cable TV promotion where after the 2 years are up, you will sign up for the then current double deal.

When Google and Verizon were allowed to have a closed-door meeting with the FCC over what net neutrality and both have come down in favor of a restrictive net while giving press conferences saying the opposite - and got their way at things - - then I don't have a lot of hope for regulation fixing this sort of thing.

Unless anti-competitive practices can be shown under existing law, I don't think that Wallet stands a chance over ISIS.

IMO.

BREAKING NEWS EVERYONE!

I called my local Verizon store tonight and he said that they had just received word that they would have the Nexus on Friday and that it would be first come first serve. I had to come tell you guys first!

Also, we've landed on the moon.

P.S. I love all these leaks - I haven't seen a hide tag in at least 10 pages!

Look what is coming up when you search accessories for 5801. It is no longer a broken link for the pic. Yes sir, getting close.

Set Your Location

Also, if you look at the list of Compatible Devices, the XYBOARD models have been added.

I just checked this list no more than 15 minutes ago and neither the Nexus pic nor the tablet placeholders were added. Site is being updated as we speak :-)
