When Google and Verizon were allowed to have a closed-door meeting with the FCC over what net neutrality and both have come down in favor of a restrictive net while giving press conferences saying the opposite - and got their way at things - - then I don't have a lot of hope for regulation fixing this sort of thing.
Unless anti-competitive practices can be shown under existing law, I don't think that Wallet stands a chance over ISIS.

Sorry I should have been more specific - i was mostly responding to the annoyance of not being able to use any phone on any carrier in general.
i think you're probably right about NFC technology - especially since the credit card companies have a major stake in it. Just like AmEx isn't accepted everywhere, I'm sure NFC will eventually, when fully developed, function much in the same way credit cards do now.
