Just left my Verizon store and he kept mentioning the 11th for pr-order and launch Monday. He kept saying the 11th even when I mentioned the 9th.. Who knows...

Store Locator - Verizon Wireless
put in your zip code for the one closest to you. They only list the corporate stores, at least here in Pcola. There are a bunch of authorized retailers but only 4 stores listed and there corporate. I'm finding there is a big difference. especially in price

I tried Butler yesterday and the manager knew nothing. I haven't called today. And I haven't called Paramus cause I don't want to be on route 17 in rush hour so if I don't call I can't be tempted to go.

I was under the impression that the ones that first show up when you do a store locator search were corporate. When you select "All Stores", retailers also appear. Then again, there's BJs kiosks listed under the main returns, but then AGAIN, I don't see any Costco. So maybe BJs kiosks are considered corporate?
I just overflowed the stack, didn't I?
I was planning on hitting up the Paramus store on Rt 17 on my way to work. I guess that's probably crazy to your point. I bought my OG Droid at GS Plaza at 4pm on launch day but I don't think I can wait til after work this go around

That store in Paramus is crazy too. I remember from when I lived in the area. That was 10 years ago too. Im sure it a real nut house now.

Just stepping in during a free period in school. I think you'll have more luck with these stores if you physically go there and ask for info... just saying.

Just talked to the BJ's store that is most convenient for me.....they have a demo unit, but no stock yet and no release date. I, unfortunately live 2 hours from the store (heading in town Friday night) so I can't go see the demo. Anyone in Richmond, Va want to head over to BJs????? But it does seem like the is the first time I have heard of a store with a DEMO!!!!!
Stay faaaar away from 17 during rush hour! So far I have called livingston and union.

I'm sorry, but until Verizon says so themselves, I don't consider anything confirmed. This date can slip at any time if Verizon feels like being jerks.

Ok guys, I was starting to get really skeptical. I called 2 of the stores nearest me and even told them I knew some stores had them in stock and was releasing Friday and they wouldn't crack. They said they knew nothing.
Called the 3rd store which is probably 20 miles further away but not far from where I work and the woman on the phone confirmed they do have them in the store right now but could not sell till Friday. I asked her specifically if they had them in the store and she said yes without hesitation and said that they could sell them on Friday and no sooner. Even asked if I could convince her to sell one early, she said no. All in good fun of course. So I asked her if I could put my name down to reserve 2 and what time they would open on Friday. She put me on hold to check with the manager.
Here's the bad news guys. Take it like everything else stated here, with a grain of salt, but she came back and said that the manager said he just got notified they could not sell on Friday and does not know when they can sell. He said there's still a chance, but they wouldn't know till Thursday. She said they have had a couple of launch dates already for the device but they were all pulled last minute.
Like I said, take it with a grain of salt. I'm going to call the last store in the area now.

ME: I asked if I can apply the $50 loyalty discount at the store,that is offered online.
Store: And the they said YES.
ME: So I said that I will be there Friday morning for the new Samsumg.

Agreed. I saw this morning that the thread title changed to confirmed, I was hoping they finally sent out a press release.

got a text from my buddy who is a VZW corporate store manager today. i asked if there was any truth to the soft launch and he replied with "it's true". he then set me up with an appointment to pick up my GNex on Thursday morning at 11AM (since that's my lunch break) to make certain that I get my hands on one launch day.
i have no reason to doubt him after everything he's helped me out with in the past in regards to phone launches. i guess i'll know at 11AM on Thursday!
So are some people getting their hands on this a day early? I ve pretty much been told Friday by my store, so what's up with the whole Thursday thing?

wait a sec, it talks of an "EVO 4G LTE smartphone". what is that about? the EVo 4G is on Sprint. hmmmmmm
that is true EVEN after VZW announces it. Nothing is confirmed 100% till the phones are in the stores and for sale. Unless they pull them so that isn't even CONFIRMED
