I really think you're jumping the gun here Steven. I know we all get excited when we see something that looks very credible with lots of different sources to back it up...but we had a lot of sources saying 11/3 too...and that was completely wrong.

I really have a hard time believing they will release in 3 days without so much as an announcement so far. I hope this date is true, and I'm not saying I will be surprised if it does come out that day...but until Verizon issues a statement: it's not confirmed.
 
Why in the name of all things Nexus are we STILL posting CSR conversations? We've been given just about every date between December 1st and December 30th. Obviously one of the dates is going to be right. Just yesterday, Steven's rep was saying next week and that was big news for some reason. Meanwhile, p3droid, Kellex, Han's sister, and a buttload of internal documents have been pointing at December 8th-9th for a while.

SALES REPS DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT. Can the "My rep said it's been delayed again/My rep says it came out last tuesday" please stop? Please? We're almost there. We don't need any more emotional roller coasters between now and then. If it's not out by Friday, by all means, continue badgering these people for information they don't have. [/rant]

P.S.
I'll save you the disappointment by telling you there won't be a midnight release tonight. Get some sleep so you can stay up all night playing with it once it actually comes out.!
 
Someone on the AC comments explained the EVO wording in the screenshot. Apparently it refers to the store type - Legacy stores are the older stores, EVO stores are the newer designed stores. So it's referring to the marketing pieces related to that store type specifically. Has nothing to do with EVO phones.

Called the last store in my area and had kind of a strange conversation. First the guy said no phones in stock and they haven't released the launch date yet. He then abruptly said "Well...hold on a second..." put me on hold for literally 5 seconds and was back (very short hold time) and said "No, we haven't released a launch date" I asked if they had phones in stock and he said no. However, considering the very short hold time, meaning he didn't have to search for any info, that they knew something and have heard it recently, but what that something was, I don't know.

We were never getting this kind of response from in store reps before. I think the posts are valid until the 9th. If the 9th passes, I will agree that they are worthless.

How do you "preorder" on line? Does VZW have a specific link to the phone or do I just try to upgrade my line and see if the SGN shows up?

This is why I don't care who was quoted, what person said what or what stock inventory pix was shown, we do not know at this point. Yes, it seems the 9th has 'some' credibility, but there's no way I'd mark that down in my calendar...at least not in ink.
 
LOL I love all of these reading between the lines of what some CSR said statements. How many times do we have to prove that CSR's typically know LESS than what we have already read?
 
Just talked to another corporate store here in Northern Illinois and the rep said they received their demo this morning and if I wanted to come in I could play with it!!! He also said there shipment should hit the store tomorrow sometime. Gave him my name and number and asked him to call me when he got any more info...

He just called me back and said he made a mistake they actually received 10 Gnexs today but I can not buy one till the 8th... Bingo they are there...:D

Statement from Jeffrey Nelson, spokesperson for Verizon:

Recent reports that Verizon is blocking Google Wallet on our devices are false. Verizon does not block applications.

Google Wallet is different from other widely-available m-commerce services. Google Wallet does not simply access the operating system and basic hardware of our phones like thousands of other applications. Instead, in order to work as architected by Google, Google Wallet needs to be integrated into a new, secure and proprietary hardware element in our phones.

We are continuing our commercial discussions with Google on this issue.

Ok, so let me get this straight. Some people will have them @ their local stores Thursday...and some people will have them Friday. and we're "CERTAIN" of this...so i should just go check Thursday, and if nothing is there, check Friday..and i can have my phone..is that correct. Tia

Last time I was there was just for a quick tech fix to my crackberry. I was there at 830am and was the 8th person in line :(

That's what she said!
 
The reason these CSR statements are valid or at least should be considered is because we have never been given any info like this before from them. This means they know about the phone and have been given at least some info regarding the launch. Some take what others poste from CSR's promising to ship phones to you on Thursday as gospel truth, yet will doubt when another CSR says they have them in stock but the release has been pulled for now. Like I said, take it all with a grain of salt. I won't believe anything till the phone is in my hands and/or the dates mentioned have passed. I'll call the stores tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday, and then again Monday if necessary. Come next Thursday though, the 15th, I'll have a new phone in my hands. I've long said the 15th is the cutoff.
 
i haven't been in here much lately but i kind of have to agree with some of the others. what makes these new "leaked documents" any more official than the numerous other leak dates that we've seen?

If I were you I'd run there and take him up on that offer...go there and play with one..and take pix. THAT would be the most substantial evidence we've had...bar none. But why do I have my doubts you'll find it there?
