God this is awesome! What a great thread; and to think I started when we where on page 400 and I felt like a newbie Feel like a damn seasoned veteran now, 900 pages later...LOL
Just went into one store and called another. Store I went to said they have no info but would call me. Store I called, which is a corporate store, actually told me THURSDAY. What the eff?! Are they seriously doing a quiet sale on Thursday?!
Yeah, I know how you feel. I've called maybe 5 or so stores within a 5 mile radius of my house, all to be told that they do not know if it will be released this Friday, but if it does, that they will have them in stock, although they assured me that only a minimal amount will be available. But I'd definitely like to see an actual confirmation, a press release or something.
So I finally dropped by my Verizon Corporate store that I mentioned previously in the above post. The attached pic is a SGN that the Manager brought out from the back for me to play with. I inquired again about the release date and s/he was adamant that it was going to be the 12th. Take it for what it's worth ... tired from my 13 hour day ... goodnight friends and enjoy!
Just wanted to drop a word in to everyone and concede that my previous info was incorrect .. I received a call earlier today confirming the already previously leaked info that ...

My store in Manalapan, New Jersey has them in stock and the Sales Rep confirmed the 12/9 release date! Oh my God, I'm so excited! I've waited for this day for about 4 months!!
Is this an independent? Or the corporate on route 9? I can't decide where I'm going because I have a small independent near my house in Jamesburg. The store owner didn't know anything about the phone (or just wasn't giving anything away) so I didn't press her about it. I will get it when I get it I guess.
Ok I have to get homework done and it's a bit of an information overload right now so I'll see you guys later tonight once it cools down hopefully! I'm so excited...
Here is a quote from the manual that was posted earlier. For all you people who have never had a Vanilla Android device, this may come as good news to you:
Share your phone's data connection as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot
1
Go to Settings > Wireless & networks > More > Tethering & portable hotspot.
2
Check Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
After a moment, the phone starts broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name (SSID), so you can connect to it
with up to 8 computers or other devices.
To stop sharing your data connection, uncheck
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
Rename or secure your portable hotspot
You can change the name of your phone's Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and secure its Wi-Fi network
when it's acting as a portable hotspot.
1
Go to Settings > Wireless & networks > More > Tethering & portable hotspot.
2
Make sure Portable Wi-Fi hotspot is checked.
3
Touch Configure Wi-Fi hotspot.
The Configure Wi-Fi hotspot dialog opens.
4
Set your name and security options as follows:
Change the Network SSID (name) that other computers see when scanning for Wi-Fi networks.
Choose a security option. Choosing WPA2 PSK adds a password field to the Configure Wi-Fi
hotspot dialog. If you enter a password, you will need to re-enter that password when you connect to
the hotspot with a computer or other device. To remove security from your Wi-Fi network, choose

Called my corporate store guy and he said he was at lunch, but would call me back after he checks on which day he can sell me one. He didn't sound certain that they had them in stock yet, but said he's pretty sure they will be here in time for launch. Hopefully he will sell me one tomorrow evening
