PLUS they started this thing where it will let you restore up to 30 days previous in case you do something weird that you want to change.

I love that area. We've vacationed in Lake George for 28 years so Saratoga is often in our visitations.

I only ever remember the hands that remind me of yahtzee :o

LMAO! Good night - don't forget to take some aspirin NOW and then again as soon as you wake up

Thanks, BB. As a Brooklyn boy and Long Islander for the first twenty years of my life, downstate was all I knew, but when I moved to Saratoga after college I realized this place is fantastic. If you're ever in these parts, give a shout out.

I text so much on set too, plus the emails, plus being bored and playing with a phone. haha. It's a bad industry to have a dead phone in! I missed a few jobs a month back because my phone was off in the morning and I slept through some last minute calls to fill in for people. On big jobs too :(. So mine is basically never off unless I am truly unavailable. Charge having random reboot issues has been a major problem too! Which is ironic because the whole reason I jumped on my upgrade the second I could was because I was in the middle of a show and my OG was having major issues.
Emails are a huge deal for me as well, I have an LG dare and I'm constantly looking for a computer or smartphone to borrow when on the run and need to check my email!
But yeah, I totally agree smartphones are a necessity on set.
I'm sorry about missing those job opportunities, I'm sure more will come your way(:

I'm here, am I too late!? Press release yet?

Nope - nothing yet.

Will do! I was up there in May - well, a little south at the Northern Lights and then again to Lake George for vacation in August, then the car show in September and the balloon show whenever that was.
(Damn - didn't realize how often I was there this year!)

So jealous! Stupid commuter school so my last final is scheduled on the 21st!:mad::(

Ouch. I'm done on the 15th. I have a lab practical final tomorrow and then next week I have 4 written final exams and a lab practical final. I will be at the bar with my classmates and my Nexus on the 15th!

That
SUCKS! (wasn't sure if I was allowed to say that out in the open.)

It really really really does! Didn't start till after Labor Day too. Follows the same sort of schedule as public secondary schools. Which makes sense for a commuter campus, but it's so annoying since it's still The University of Michigan...

Ooohhhhh - I like the gray one when I look at them but I am hoping to find one that is more of a bumper not a full cover on the back. Since we seem to be so alike let me know how you like it. (I know others have said they love it but this is my forum sister) :D

And go figure, I would prefer a bumper too! :p I was hoping SGP would make one. I forget the name of it, but they have one for the SG2. I emailed them asking about adding more products to their Gnex line, but I haven't gotten a response :(

Not only that the Allstate Mayhem guy will show up here if it is not released on 12/9.;)

I love that guy!!! Seriously my favorite commercials. Is that weird?

Why would they ship phones to stores and send out documents to employees just to sit on phones until Dec 15? Makes no sense at all..

Wait who are we talking about here though :D

Serio, we're still good for this week until we hear otherwise. Funny we were waiting for word, now we're waiting and hoping for no word!

You were brave enough to do this area around track season, huh? My wife and I ha en always said that Saratoga reminds us so much of where we lived on LI during Christmas and Track season. It gets filled with tourists and traffic. :)

Thanks. Luckily I've been pretty busy this year. 4 features, I forget how many shorts, and 2 commericals. Already have a feature scheduled for January too.

I can't imagine not working with a smartphone! I'd die.

Yeah. my FIRST final is the 15th!

P3 is very rude and snooty.

Snooty is an excellent choice of word. Very accurate. He reminds me of a mean girl in high school. Specifically, the popular girl on that MTV show Awkward.

I wish I could pre-order the Nexus tonight or in an hour or so because last year I preordered the Samsung Fascinate which was great during the first week and then started becoming laggy and froze up alot and I lost it in 6months and had revert to an old Samsung Trance with a cracked screen which now faces the black screen of death where it powers on and I can't see what's going on. At this point, a phone is what I need, please come tonight! Give me Nexus or Give me an IPhone (pun on death) >< sorry if that sounded too anti apple but I honestly do not like apple for their overly priced products where specs aren't the 'greatest'. Anyways, an hour countdown here we go!!! It has been a samsung line for me so far as the phones do look nice but they start to wear down easily internally and externally, hopefully not with the Nexus!?! Hour Start Go Next!!!

Yup. We even went shopping for dresses for a wedding we had to go to during track season. Never again!! That's where I draw the line. I got more dirty looks from snooty people cause I purposely acted like them and they didn't realize it....... :D

Thanks! But if that's the case, why are people saying stuff along the lines of, "unlock it first no matter what...bc unlocking it later will wipe everything and be a total pain..." ? Bc what you just explained doesnt sound too bad, but then again ive never experienced it, so maybe it is a huge pain no matter what? Maybe?

BUT i totally agree, Ill just take it all in for a while and enjoy the pure sexiness at first...and cross that bridge when i get there...I was just making sure that bridge wouldnt be flooded by the time i got there...

Well, sure it's a bit of a pain, but if you use google, gmail, calendar, market, etc., it's still easy to recover. You dont have to type in 400 contacts, or manually add 600 email addresses. The market remembers what you have downloaded and will put the apps back on your phone, etc.

Personally, I wipe mine out occasionally just to clean things up.

The GNex is the latest and greatest. Most of the time, rooting and modding are just to catch a particular phone up when the manf is lagging behind in updates. Other people just like to push the envelope and tinker. You may develop a desire to tinker too. by then, you will have things all set up and have a comfort zone as to how things work.

Again, I see no need to void your warranty without a good reason to do so. Avoiding another setup is not a good reason.

Wow, if you did the Balloon festival you were practically right at the school where I teach. I work in Queensbury, which is practically next door to Lake George.

Thats on the tame scale of the anti-apple remarks here!:p I'm not a fruit hater though. You can guess that being involved in the arts, I don't have a choice about my Apple use.

I love the enthusiasm for the NEXUS! I left for a few hours of drinking at the bar and am now over 15 pages behind. I'll really miss this thread once the phone actually releases!

I've had a very busy day and haven't been on here at all...I have no idea what's going on, but I just had to fill you all in on my day!
Ok, I've had a bad technology day, and a GREAT Nexus day. Since my hubby messed up my Fascinate yesterday, I was using our old OG Droid. The touch screen is questionable, and the buttons are also very flakey. So...no phandroid on it! :o) The replacement refurbed Fascinate arrived, and he quickly switched me to it and off I went to go Christmas shopping. My friend and I dropped by my favorite VZ store so I could "feel" them out about the Friday date. At first, the CSR was trying to be all sneaky like he didn't know what I was talking about, but then the MGR who has talked with me a lot walked in and he just gave me a BIG smile! So I asked him when it was coming out and he said "You know I can't tell you that!" I said, just tell me when I need to make plans to come back to town (I live in the middle of NOWHERE, remember! I have to travel to my store!). He said Friday would be a good day to come to town! I told him that I teach all day, and that I wouldn't be able to make it till evening, and asked if he might set one aside for me. He said to call the store and remind him on Thursday. Then he remembered that he is off on Thursday, so he wrote down his personal number for me to call and remind him!
I was kind of teasing and said "Can I just SEE it? PLEASE???" and he nodded to the CSR who was helping me in the first place, and he went to the back and brought it out!!! I got to hold it, and I even tried putting it in my pocket (remember, it has to FEEL right to me!) and it felt PERFECT!! SO EXCITED! It is a beautiful phone!
After we left, I tried to text my husband that I got to see it, but the new fascinate is now flaking! The screen won't "focus" it just keeps rolling round and round! So...We called VZ support again, and they are sending yet another refurb to replace this refurb. Great. I just want something that is useable that I can sell once I get my GNex! So now I am back on the OG Droid...hoping I can limp along till I get the GNex on Friday!! ;o)
Have a great night all!!!
