Announcement:

Telesales is selling the OEM accessories now. I just ordered the extended battery ($50) and the black silicon case ($25) and used my Living Social coupon. One important note, you must call telesales at 866-745-4679 to use the Living Social coupon as *611 isn't setup to accept it.

Not to be rude...but who cares, if we are never going to get the phone?

Did you ask about ordering Nexus itself?

Out of angst or in vain I don't understand the need to try and bombard any company with anything. If this delay RUMOR turns out to be credible, maybe VZ has found a software glitch and wants it to be remedied who knows. We don't know anything yet. Calm....:)[/QUOTE

And if it's one software glitch after another before the damn thing is even released, then maybe this phone 'aint so hot afterall'. Rezound is looking better & better.

If it bothers you that much you don't buy the phone.

Do you have any suggestions on how to get our message through to Verizon Execs that we could really use some information here? Anything at all??? I came up with a suggestion and instead of giving me a better one you tell me not to get the phone, something to help out would be much better. Thanks!

Putting my overly optimistic hat on here.

What if it's not going to be released on Friday, but in fact, Thursday???

Is it too late to send out a press release to this effect?

this is what i have to say about the delay:

The phone has been out for a while, It has had bugs, some of them fixed already, but I would hardly call it the buggiest phone in history, especially when you consider its the first ICS phone which has significant changes over previous operating systems.

So if the next Nexus device releases next year maybe we should just keep this thread open and switch the topic to that phone? (Since it'll likely be released first)

With all due respect, any reason you still trust your sister's sources when they haven't been right once?

I actually think she has been very accurate with respect to when the info was given and remember when saying things like that, it's his sister, family, blood is much thicker than water, ease up on a guys family, I'm frustrated too...

PS - Saying "With all due respect" doesn't mean your showing any respect, most of the time when people use that phrase, it is an excuse to say something rood or insensitive, ya know.

And you know what will be even more maddening? We'll probably never know the reason it has been pushed back. Bugs, shipment to store delays, etc...we'll never know and the removed December 9th to "coming soon" on the equipment guide is absolutely disheartening. Basically tells us there's no contingent date being set so now they have to mull over what date to set next.

My own speculation? They're probably afraid that their stock shipments to all stores won't arrive in time for Friday and probably pushed it back to next week.

Oh well, what can you do?

Just called Radio Shack and spoke with the store manager. He's been the most helpful so far. He put me on hold to finish what he was in the middle of and then put me back on the line and searched through his documents/emails and said that it said they were receiving them this week. (paraphrasing, but he read me what the document said, obvious he was reading something) He said weekly shipments come in tomorrow and he would gladly put my name on one and reserve it if they came in. He said he assumed that receiving them this week meant before Friday since shipments come Thursday and he thought they would be able to sell Friday. He did not promise anything other than he would call me and let me know either way. He took my name and number down to reserve one and said he would call tomorrow.

No corporate Verizon BS, this was an honest guy just telling me what he knew and trying to earn my business. He did just that. Regardless of when the phone comes out, as long as it is still a viable option at that time, then this guy will earn my business. He didn't try to feed me a line or cover up what he knew, he just said original documents said receiving this week and that usually meant he could sell when he got them. Take it for what it's worth.

All of my sister's info has been corroborated by other sources through Kellex, the Love Tunnel, etc. It's not her fault if the idiots she works for keeps pushing back dates. She can't predict the future.

I agree, but that in a nutshell is why you don't believe rumors...and let's face it, without there having been a single official VZW press release on the launch date, these were and remain all rumors.

My mistake this time was not taking my own advice I was often criticized for "don't buy into any of these rumors until VZW makes it official". That has yet to happen.

I was never convinced either. Maybe this gives them time to actually properly market this phone.

Ha what? Dude they've had months to properly market this phone. If they couldn't have done it in the amount of time they've had, then maybe they need to let the marketing team go and find some people who can get the job done.

The information was accurate at the time it was given. What? You don't believe thngs can change?

We may never know if it's really a delay or if they never intended the phone to be out this week, but hopefully we will get to the bottom of it, because if it's the latter, I am about fed up with the epidemic of reporting inaccurate news based on circumstantial evidence and unconfirmed reports and rumors, not just here, but all over the net when it comes to cell phone journalism.
