As much as I wanted to play with my GNex over the weekend, I'm off Monday so 12/12 is actually easier for me to get the phone and I can play with it alllllll day.

Not that it wouldn't have been amazing to have it in a couple days, but just trying to look at the positives of being delayed* again.
 
So phones started to arrive at Verizon stores, then a delay again... Why don't they just sell it? Are they really going to have all the stores return the phones? They going to send out cables to fix a bad cable issue and have the store employees open each box to put the cable in? seriously none of this makes sense.... But then again we are talking about Verizon.

You can't pick and chose which rumors you want to believe. Everything we have so far is rumor or information from a CSR. Which is the same place that the delay information is coming from. If you believed the 9th why would you not believe that it's now delayed? Same source for both. The same store reps that were saying the 9th are now saying it won't be the 9th and they don't know when.

So he could see into the future and know that Verizon would internally announce the 9th as the release, then redact that, and then release it 12/12-12/15? Riiiight...:rolleyes:

Again, why would Verizon put it into their system for the 9th and inform stores of the 9th if they were planning on 12/12-12/15 all along? That makes NO sense whatsoever.

Let's put it this way. Which is more likely:

a) verizon internally decided 12/9 was it, they notified their stores, added it to the equipment guide, then realized there was a bug or problem and they had to push it for whatever reason

or

b) verizon internally wanted 12/15 all along, but put 12/9 in the system just to what? screw with employees or oust moles?

Sorry, I think occam's razor is pretty apropos here and a) makes way more sense.

Again, we never had offcial docs from VZW and no PR statement. If you all want to believe in leaked docs then cool, I for one, do not. As far as I was told, no documents were sent out to all employees. Do you have proof of this? Or just more leaked docs to point to?
 
I'm not sure I get this... if 4g is an issue countrywide, fix the problem and keep the phone ready to go out on time. I cannot imagine pushing back a phone because 4g coverage issues.

Its NOT nationwide. My service is fine and someone else just said theirs is too in ST.

Believe what you want, but there was enough backing of 12/9 for MANY stores to tell customers that they could come in on the 9th to get it. Are you suggesting Verizon employees all decided to feed their customers with BS about the 9th based on internet rumors and not actual inside information from their systems about the 9th?
 
Why would they delay the phone for one business day to Monday 12/12. That makes ZERO sense. If it can be ready on Monday, it can be ready (enough) on Friday. Seriously... miss yet ANOTHER weekend of holiday shoppers right before Christmas? If it is delayed, it will not be available on Monday... that does not make any sense at all.

Well I called my store rep and he said that he's seen all the rumors, but that he still doesn't know. Could still be this week or early next week, but he'll text me when he finds out.

You'd think if store reps got emails saying it's no longer the 9th, everyone would be getting it.

This is so screwed up.

No. Get real!

Verizon(a giant corporation) got their panties in a bundle like a petty school girl because we found out about the 9th before they could PR it. So they changed the wording to "coming soon" just to spite us.

So do I have this right?

We are pretty certain devices are in SOME stores, but it's looking quite likely they won't actually let us buy them until next week??

If true, what the dung VZW??

Do we have confirmation of any nonVZW retailers already having devices?? Figure we have a better chance of them letting them out early than places with actual VZW employees who have jobs on the line related to selling them and maybe even UPC blocks in their sales systems??
 
AHHH more speculation alert

Called again to my local store. She said she wasn't sure on the exact launch date(as we already know) but then i was put on hold, she came back and said that in most cases when they continue to have an extended wait on when exactly it will launch then it usually launches on a ONLINE ONLY sale.

Nom nom nom smh.....this takes me way back to the original rumors of a web only launch from months back.
