This article makes perfect sense...what I don't understand is why would Verizon ship all these phones to it's stores and retailers knowing of the ongoing talks between them & Google that still remained with, why have a launch day initially at all??

This is exactly why i thought the talks of a holdup for this was fake. How could there be talks this late?! Isnt there a contract that they sign off on before officially working together for releasing a phone?

I was thinking about this, too, but then I wondered:

If we do get a reseller to sell it to us on Friday, and Verizon hasn't officially released it yet, we won't be able to activate it.

I still might go that route anyway, if possible, just so I can finally have it. It beats walking around with an empty case in your back pocket and pretending.

Yes, Davenport is the largest in the metro area! And as a followup to my previous post, I am getting NO DATA at all on my Bionic right now (for over a half hour now). Tried rebooting, tried Airplane mode toggle... Still nothing!
