Root How many here using CM7.1

How many here using CM7.1 and getting random reboots??? SO far its happened to me twice and I have been running CM7.1 for 5 days.

Are you overclocked?
What was your flashing procedure?

There are a few different things that can cause bootloops, only one of which is the ROM.

Personally, I'm strictly sense based. Hell, I probably wont run most of the ICS ROMS as a daily untill we get a decent port with some sense on it.

I am using decks build of cm7.1 and it's fine. What kernel are you using? I also ran regular cm7.1 for awhile with no issues

I'm not in a bootloop( knockin on wood)Just got a randome reboot a couple of times.

When I loaded . I did my usual, Nandriod, Wipe everything except sd and wimax, factory reset, then re-wipe. then I run the superwipe script and another little script called format system. Then I flash. Everytime I do it like this I have no problems with the flash. when I cut corners is when I have had load problems.

Where did you get Deck's CM7? Does it have 4G working and wifi tether? If it based on CM then I am assuming it does. Seems the random reboot is just a little glich some are experiencing with CM7.1, just makes me nervous because of all the Deathloop talk.

Oh yea, clocking at 998 max and 384 min with a screen off profile of 384 max and 245 min.

If you're worried, try running a sense rom for a little while.
If the reboots stop then it might have been a bad download of the rom.
If they don't stop you might have a hardware issue.

I would run MikG, can't go wrong with a MikROM. ;)

Thanks Granite but I am a convert to the AOSP Gingerbreads. Love them they are some much faster.

Found decks, might try it this weekend. Whats the voicemail .apk???

I assume thats the Sprint visual voice mail app.

I'm not 100% sure, I've never run that rom.

I haven't ran CM7 for a while. I was on AOSP for so long on the Hero that AOSP lost it's luster for me for now. But ICS is now running pretty decent, I'll flash the latest builds every so often but Sense 3.5 is what I've been running for last couple of months;)

As far as your reboots, usually a cache wipe and dalvik cache wipe can help. But personally, I never liked the stable/rc releases for CM, I was always flashing the latest nightlies. Always had better success with the nightlies

Here you go. It's basically CM7 that has been cleaned up for the Evo. It's a little more lean than CM7. CM is built for many devices and this is more tailor made for the Evo, if that makes sense. Check out the OP and there should be links there. I'm running his 1.3 stable release, but there are people in this thread that swear by the 1.3(d) build that is based off Android 2.3.5. The 1.3 stable build is based on Android 2.3.7.

[10-11-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [1.3][2.3.7 Stable] #Stablistic - xda-developers

Anyone got another link, will not download from there, keeps failing. Thanks though Mizz. I appreciate the link, I want to find it and try it.

Try it again. My link is to the xda thread and in the first post click on gingerbread evo 1.3 stable and get the gapps too if you don't already. It's downloading for me right now.

I switched back to 7.1 last week and now I'm getting a freeze up and force reboot about once a day. I never had this on any other rom and even 7.0.3.

Whats the deal?

I tend to get reboots on any rom if I use my phone extensively. IE low signal and still trying to web browse while doing some multitasking. Then stupidly open in new tab.. then BLAM. Reboot time.

If that sounds like what happens with you, then we are on the same page (and I have no advice for you except don't have such poor signal ;) )

Clarify:
I'm guessing the reboots have to do with extensive use. When i have low signal and the phone jumps from 1x to none to 3g... the phone gets hot fast. And I burn through battery. I'm guessing this is the cause of my reboots. Could any of that be happening to you?

Been running good here lately. I switched Kernels to tiamat 4.0.1 sbc and its been running real good overclocked at 1036. Getting alot better battery life with heavy use to. THink I'll stick with this till there is a stable ICS with 4g and wifi tether. I need those 2 things the most. No reboots or FC lately.

I'll stick with my sense. I'll break 3 days of battery life before this charge runs out with my normal use

I'm using the latest Tiamat kernel. I run it most of the day at 806 mhz

Try tiamat 3.3.7. Or if you stick with the one you're on change the governor to smartass instead of smartass v2. I have read on xda of people having these types of issues with the newest tiamat.

I second the smartass governor. (I think I'm on tiamat 4.0.6 or 7 SBC though...*shrug*)

1) works nice
2) makes me smile on rainy days ;)

sprint calls these"power cycling",and it has nothing to do with the rom.it is heat related, and there is no cure.i had that happen to my previous evo,and i put my stock rom back on it and took the thing back and got a refurbed one and re-rooted.i go back and fourth with 7.0.3.1,and 7.1..i love cm,also, try clearing the cache and dalvik and i would also try fixing permissions in recovery under advanced if you are running cwm.i have done quite a bit of troubleshooting with the evo,its a fun and very responsive device.

I'm running team nocturnal. Xplod and tiamat 3.3.7 and have no random reboot issues. Get decent battery life. Nothing past 8 hours but I'm an extensive user
