As much as I want this phone to get released tomorrow. What are the chances of them selling the phone tomorrow without a press release today?

Hans--from speaking with your sis...or anyone else in the know, what is the likelihood of vzw in today's regional meeting of reversing yesterday's decision and selling tomorrow if it was indeed due to LTE issues which seem to have been fixed?

I also wonder if they halted shipments of product to corporate stores yesterday that still hadn't received.

Unfortunately that info is higher up than what my sister would hear on short notice. But she did say that if they decided to flip flop back and forth between releasing this week and not, it wouldn't surprise her.

I wasn't being serious. I know, my dry sense of humor doesn't come across sometimes. But when in doubt, check to see if I thanked the post. :p

Don't worry I wasn't either.. Sometimes I do feel like maybe there are people that are like "Let me come in there and screw with these guys". Insert good or bad statements here.

When you get right down to it, Verizon never technically lied to us, that's true. We can't be angry at them for that. But to send out an internal equipment guide saying December 9 and then reneging (apparently), to constantly be pushing the date back (apparent from internal leaks), and to insist on exclusivity in the U.S. while making us watch the entire world (Canada this morning) get the damn thing before any of us, it just smacks of stupidity.

So we can't attack them for lying to us, but we can definitely be awestruck and their utter stupidity and inability to just launch a damn phone in a timely manner.

The information is/was supposed to kept internal, without all of these "leaks" people would not be upset about a possible missed release date. If anything, blame the people who are leaking supposed information when they should not be doing it.

FWIW I just got an email from my corporate store contact and she said they will be getting the phones in next week. Who knows if she is telling the truth. She just sent me the email 10 minutes ago. It just seems like it is becoming less and less likely that it will release tomorrow to me.

Can someone explain to me what the big deal is about a top secret release date? I mean why does it have to be kept super secret, my money-minded brain tells me you would WANT a release date out in public so people know not to go with another carrier (who might also be carrying the same product)- Don't you want people to wait for your product and KNOW its coming out (no matter what the date)?

It's as if they hired indecisive elementary kids to be their execs. If I'd known that's how it worked I would've saved myself the college loans back in the 3rd grade. :p

I'm still 50/50 on it coming out tomorrow. My sister and I talked late last night (nothing new to report, and most of the conversation wasn't about the Gnex, so I didn't post anything), but she did tell me that everyone who's talking about it doesn't see one single reason to delay it.

She heard yesterday (as I posted) that there were some bugs that came out during testing, but she figures that was old news.

The 4G outage, she said, might be a reason, but they didn't think it would take that long to fix, certainly not a few days.

I have a feeling that Verizon simply got pissed at their release date being leaked like crazy, and they decided to simply tell their store reps that December 9 was no longer in play. Maybe during the meeting today they will say it's back on, and to shut up about it.

Who knows.

If i was a giant corporate entity and low level members were leaking information despite an NDA barrier such actions, in masses no less, I'd be pretty freaking pissed. Not to mention how we have 'hacked' their website to get various photos and such. The top suits aren't feeling like they're not in control of the ship and freaked out. Understandable. They're doing their job if they're cracking down.

Yes it is fun to peak behind the proverbial curtain sometimes, but more often than not it leads to confusion and disappointment because we are incapable of understanding the ramifications of the information received. Then we get pissed off at them?

I'm not saying they're handling any of his right, but the truth for every fact we do know, there are probably hundreds of related issues we aren't aware of and would be ill equipped to assess even if we did.

So I for one am going to enjoy my form friends for the rest of the ride, add to relevant and irrelevant conversation when the mood strikes, but I am also going to take a more zen toaist approach and just let the phone come to me :)

If it's after nye I'll be real pissed though :P

That "internal document" screams fishy..for starters, network is one word- not: "NetWork"...(not saying the information is wrong though)

Not familiar with Verizon's internal systems but it appears to be a name of whatever that particular system is. Notice the "My NetWork" next to VZ Intranet.

I don't think that's a mistake.

Slim to none... actually just none. Even the most forgotten phone on their network got a press release the day before.

If we told you, Verizon would have to kill you. :D

The more i try to think about this rationally, I come to the conclusion there has to be some actual problem with the phone.

Verizon has hundreds/thousands (not really sure how many) of people lined up at their door begging to pay them $300 (and sign up for two more years of their service), not just taking the money and running is absurd.

I guess my posts are invisible today. Denial is a powerful thing.

The meeting already happened? I figured it would be a 10-11AM thing to make sure the west coasters were included in it unless they made them get up early.

I just don't believe there is NO release date set for this device especially when their internal equipment guide had a definite date of tomorrow.

No....no you aren't. ;)

Long time lurker, btw, but had to actually log in this morning and contribute after that incredibly touching display last night. :D
Thanks to everyone for this incredible thread!! Grats to Steven!!

Welcome into the world of non lurking.

I'm so bummed I just don't even feel like calling my rep contacts.... Seems like they all have had the noose tightened anyway. Very unlikely that any of us are going to get any inside info. :(:(:(

<------ Retired ETC(SW/MTS) :)

There are two benefits to being a retired Electronics Technician: (a) the retirement check; and (b) I don't have to hire Geek Squad to install and configure my entertainment system :D

Now if only Dish Network would release their VIP922 receiver, I could access all my channels and DVR content on my Nexus!

ET huh? Surface?
