***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Long time lurker here.

Just thought I'd chime in and say thanks for everyone in this thread. It's giving me something to read every night while I patiently wait for the phone.

Amazon's fine print says the double data deal ends the 15th of December, so if you are holding out I would make sure I bought it on the 15th if it is indeed the day it comes out.

Can't post links yet or I would link to the Amazon double data page.

Welcome to the party!

no go at my local corp store...my cousing works there and she confirmed they are in store but can not sell but will elt me know something as soon as she can...nothing new but just checking in from north central ohio

So I went to corporate store..

Hasn't been released.. okay. Can I get a cradle? Same place i bought case from couple days ago. He says let me see what accesories I got in back.. takes a couple mins and says sorry just cases..

Asked when it will be released. He said no date its all speculation.

He said this store wont have a problem with stock ones its released though. I'm thinking he has them in back.. took my name down and noticed there was one other person already down on his list.

He said they aren't going to know when its released until it actually is. Think like their going to goto work and it will be for sale type of thing.

All I can say is I can not wait to scrap my Palm Pre Plus with webOS for this gem. CLEARLY I have been waiting TOO long for a new phone.

I bet they will announce on Monday, pre order on Wednesday, in stores on Friday
Welcome to the madhouse. I don't think there will be an announcement until it goes on sale. It'll just go on sale one day and then maybe VZW will send out an email to those who signed up saying "Galaxy Nexus on sale now."

Again guys, nothing is official until VZW says it's official. We've heard these managers & sales guys come up with dates that have yet to pan out. Wait for the announcement and that will be 'official'.

Just repeating what I've heard. These are stores that denied knowing anything 2 days ago, now suddenly they are saying 12/15 just became "official" for them. The guy didn't even know they had that info yet until someone else TOLD him they received it. Though it isn't officially official, it is the closest I've come to being sure for myself.

That is all.

The reason they don't "announce" the 15th is the same reason they didn't announce the 9th: no announcement means they can delay it internally.

Why ???

i just don't get it. WHAT is so fragile about this launch!!?? Why so hesitant?

there has to be a valid reason.

I wasn't trying to say 'CONFIRMED RELEASE DATE IS THE 15TH!!!'. I'm a skeptic and realize what you're saying but, I was simply updating with a report. I wasn't trying to mislead people. I knew that everyone was secretly hopeful for the 9th release and wanted to update that it was a 'No go' for me.

Btw, what type of bridge are you selling? ;)

One made out of nexi. For some reason they're not selling as well as Verizon thought they would.

I'm wondering how much of this silence has to do with having 3 big names involved with this phone and the dynamics of not pissing off each other.

If this was held up solely by VZW it seems like they would have no trouble saying 'hey we are trying to fix something we screwed up but it's coming soon™' Maybe "no trouble" is exaggerated but most big companies can admit self-caused delays for the sake of improvement of the end product.

But if the fault belonged to one of the others involved it's trickier to throw the other company under the bus? Sure the Google CEO implied frustration with the release but I could easily read it as trying to pass off the uncomfortable situation and get to a new question; not implying Google is at fault but that he really didn't want to say what the issue was or who it was with.

"Hey your business partner is really screwing up your product" "hehe... uhhhh... yea... it's taking forever amiright?"

You can order all the accessories via telesales with free 2 day shipping. My extended battery and case come today.

My failed attempt was at 9:05 this morning. I received the phone call at 9:45.

Hm, I called a store at 9:30 and was told that they just received word. IDK, timing lines up I guess. I'm at least hopeful.

Then again, I was sure when the equipment guide leaked. I keep convincing my self it will be 12/15, then talking myself out of it.. lol

Keep us posted. I'm on the west coast and was planning on going to costco also, but they won't open for another 3 hours.

in 22 minutes i will be calling my Costco to double check to make sure they received their nexi this morning and to double check that i can actually purchase it, if the answer is yes to both of those i will be driving 20 miles away in hopes that this person can actually sell it to me and that the process doesn't get hung up half way through.

My theory:

Verizon was going to put it out on a soft launch, then got smacked in the head by ALL the people that wanted this phone and not their other Marketed phones. All the interest on a phone they haven't advertised mad them rethink their Marketing strategy for this phone. They said, Hey, We have our 1 year anniversay of LTE on 12/15 so lets hold off on the release of this phone, get our advertising/marketing section behind this and release it on the anniversary of our Magnificent LTE network. It can be our Gift to our Customers.

Just think I was teaching my daughter what the term "Necessary Evil" means. I now have my new example. Verizon. Best network, Worst Corporate Execution.
