I think the 15th only as the next "Window for release". After what happened this week I'm definitely not getting my hopes up again.

Also, what I said last night still stands. If anyone is able to trick a store into selling them a phone today I'll eat my phone.

I'm hoping their not so they can leave their options open for sooner then that. I betting they want to release it by the 15th, with hope of releasing it sooner. I like Sunday or Monday myself...that gives them 24 to 48 hrs to test 4.0.3 that someone received this am.

This. I am constantly appalled. Most acquittals are because the evidence is circumstantial, which allows for doubt. But very often, that doubt isn't "reasonable" and a guy EVERYONE knows is guilty walks. Yes, it's the prosecution's job to prove the case. And often we do, but it's still circumstantial.

A guy tells his coworkers that he wants to kill his wife because she had an affair. He goes and buys a hunting knife at a sporting goods store with a serrated edge. He goes out drinking until 1 am and gets smashed. He goes home and at 2am calls the police distraught because he "found his wife" murdered in their bedroom. Stabbed with a serrated edge. Husband has no alibi, but neither does boyfriend. A note is found typed, "signed" by the wife, saying she is afraid of her boyfriend because he's pissed that she won't leave her husband.

Husband is tried and acquitted. And it's the prosecution's fault for not proving the case? Some juries are downright stupid. They develop a certain spirit during deliberations; some are "let's look at the bigger picture", others are "let's examine each vein of each leaf of each tree in the entire forest".

Completely agree. I'm not adverse to waiting a week, but I AM adverse to constantly having to rely on rumors and speculation because Verizon won't say anything about this phone. They announced it over two months ago, it's in some stores at least, and yet nothing at all. Just a date, even if it's the 31st. I'm just going insane thinking -- "just maybe they'll release it today!" Just tell us a date and we'll all be happy knowing it's officially official.
 
Stop #2 is at my local mall. A corporate store and a authorized retailer here. First stop was the authorized retailer. They again were very nice. Said the district manager stopped and met with them yesterday and told them its launching the 15th. I asked him if they had any in stock he said no.

On to the corporate store in the mall. One guy working. A good guy. He knew they have them in stock but didn't know if they were launching today or not. As he dug in his computer he laughed and said take a look at this. He said as I began typing Galaxy Nexus a huge message popped up with exactly what to tell customers inquiring about the phone. I read it. It was the typical stuff. Frustrated I move ahead to Abbey's store then to Costco.

OT

The Subway in the mall was making fresh bread and I couldn't resist. I tried their breakfast for the first time and it's not bad.
 
I'm still going with my theory that if we all just stop talking about it...it will happen. Let's see if we can go from now until 12PM EST without talking about or saying GALAXY NEXUS in ANY post. Let's talk about the weather or Star Wars or our weekend plans...no POSTS with GALAXY NEXUS! :)

(Yeah right, this will never work)...however I personally vow Nexus silence until 12PM EST.

I don't use mobile pages except for Google+.

Thought you might find the Mini browser an interesting addition to your browser arsenal. If you use multiple browsers as I do, also check out Choose Browser.
 
Hey guys, I am a long time lurker with very few posts but I have something to add. I talked to the local manager at my VZW corporate store. We've been buying phones and talking to him since he was just a sales associate. He said that they would be putting the phones on the floor the night of the 14th. I hope this eases some people's mind and releases the tension.

Yes, it called Stockholm Syndrome. It is where victims held captive try to survive the mental torment of their situation by identifying with their captors in order to try to understand what is happening to them. Their whole perspective changes.

After reading all these recent pages, I haven't noticed anyone mention the fact that the Droid 4 hasn't been released either, obviously we don't want that phone but it was supposed to release yesterday if I recall and now it's MIA as well.

Coincidence?

Until they are comfortable making an official commitment, they're not going to say "the 15th" just to appease you. While we're all quite frustrated, they look a whole lot worse today if they had signs up and commercials running all week saying the phone was going to come out today and then have to postpone.

My biggest issue with it is that they're still going to have huge sales when they finally do release and some idiot corporate guys are all going to pat each other on the back saying they made the right decision.

I had to do a lot of research on XDA-Developers to find a way to flash a custom ROM and jailbreak the Droid X2 because of the locked bootloader. And after doing that I was able to manipulate the phone to my heart's content. It just still didn't do everything I wanted, though a custom ROM and overclocking did make it much faster.

Unless I'm just stupid and thought I was overclocking (since I'm new to Android this could be the case) :p
 
Two things...

IMO, a internal delay is still a delay. VZW might not ever announced their public release date, but we have seen many times from sources that the Nexus was "supposed" to launch on X date, but didn't. If it was "supposed" to launch then the intention was for it be launched. Therefore, if it didn't launch, it is a delay.

Also, if the new date is the 15th, maybe this will lead to a pre-order period. Direct fill on the 11th or 12th and all avenues on the 15th??? And maybe, just maybe, an official PR today??? Less than a week to go seems like a resonable timeframe to get their fecal matter collected..
 
Looks like I will be returning Bionic today and going back to my wife's eris. My OG droid crapped last week and this Bionic drops data so much it's as bad as her eris. Hopefully it comes soon because I can't handle staying on the eris for to long. I don't like the RAZR or Rezound so hopefully the Gnex I will....

The irony of it all is they are doing it so they save face by not having to publically announce a delay.

Hey Verizon, newsflash. Your reputation is so sullied by the events surrounding this phone release, it really doesn't matter at this point. As a matter of fact, a public announcement apologizing for the delay (even WITHOUT an announced date) would actually HELP you at this point.
