Mentioned about 100 pages back. Verizon is played by Tommy Flanagan/Jon Lovitz ("November, no December 3, no December 8, I mean 9, no the 15th, yeah, that's the ticket").

I feel like Samuel L Jackson needs to be in this.. (screaming) " No!, I can't sell you a Galaxy Nexus!! this is how I talk!! "

You can get it frosted to add a little gray. Most of the time I think it is clothes that do the trick more than anything else. I would wear jeans and a shirt to work most days, but on the days I wore a business suit or a skirt and nice blouse I tended to get more respect from those in the office. In many cases I really think that clothes actually do make the man or woman.

I have to agree. Even if it's jeans and a dressier sweater and heels rather than jeans and a regular shirt with boots it can make a difference. (I work in an office now where if you get dressed up people ask if you have an interview or a wake to go to)

Think I am going to have to head off to bed. Got an early-ish morning.

This whole Nexus fiasco has get me on edge. Im not sure anymore with all the ups and downs. Its gotten to the point I have started to bug verizon on twitter. Don't believe me? @slitherjef is my username. I said I was not going to do this, but I think I sent about a half dozen messages today with the hashtag #VZWNEXUSFAIL.

I have been up and down on the ledge to jump to a new phone from Razr, Rezound and even thought about activating my sisters fairly new iPhone 4 that she dumped to get a Bionic. If the iPhone 4S had LTE and a 4.3" screen I would pick it up.

I want something different. I am tired of Moto. I want to tinker. I want to take advantage of this open source software which don't make sense on a locked handset. I know, the iPhone is locked too, but between my DX (which is a good phone but is starting to act up) and my Xoom. I am just not really feeling Moto anymore. The Razr I think is all looks and I keep falling for those looks knowing full well the sealed battery and the encrypted bootloader.

I want to tinker but my DX is far out of date for that. Not many roms out there for it and those that are are just pretty much skins.

I see I have started to ramble so probably means bed time :)

Perhaps I need a short vacation from this Galaxy Nexus fiasco? The ups and downs are really getting depressing :(

i'm wondering..if the ppl whose reps said they have no stock and can't see the Gnex have anything to do with the market they're in...ie big city vs. small town...i'm in a small town where everyone knows everyone, although i'm originally from houston, and the BB and local premium retailer had no problem showing me the "merchandise" and giving me the amount of stock...BB had 5 and retailer had 4...i'm sure relationships have something to do with it too...once again, easier for me in the small town...i know em all by name and here there's not too many asking about the gnex...my guy from the retail store has my # and text'd me moments after receiving stock with a vid and i had a hands on later that day (wednesday 12/7)...not sure what my point is but those of you having trouble may be because the small town folks may be more trusting!

I have a little different of a story to tell.

So Bought my wife a HTC Rezound about a month ago. I recently got a TXT message telling me if I didn't activate the phone I was going to be charged $400 dollars . Of course this was a mistake as you can't walk out of a store without them activating a 4G phone (at least around here). So I called and they fixed my account issue but the girl CSR refused to change my other line's NE2 date as the company can no longer do so(so she said). After the phone call, I wrote an email saying the CSR was awesome for going to the big lengths to fix my account issues but that as a customer I was surprised for the first time I asked to be compensated for one of their many mistakes they told me to pound salt.

The next day I got a call from Texas (one of there headquarters?) and it was a higher rep. She said they were very sorry for the way I was treated and that my 10+ years of business and three lines were appreciated. She would move my NE2 up so I could purchase the Nexus. Only problem was that they pulled the Nexus for internal issues (not phone issues as I asked but this is all I got) and had no internal firm release date. She said she would call me and place an order for me as soon as she got the ok (I can't go to the store and get one so I am stuck with her I guess). I lied and told her that the local corporate branch manager told me it would be released on the 15th and she said "we can only hope so".

So as soon as I get this phone call it will mean its officially happening! It's the closes I can come to inside information.

I'd say the movie could to be from the hapless Verizon sales rep perspective. Think Office Space.

With our protagonist bucking the system to slip "Secret Santa" a Nexus early.

"Oh, oh, and I almost forgot. Ahh, SamMax, I'm gonna need you to return that phone to the store, too."

I it is a pretty amazing display and video or photo doesn't really do it justice.

As far as the reps go, I fear that your age may be a factor. I remember being around your age and people didn't take me seriously when it came to what some consider high dollar items.
Age means nothing, I'm 16 and I got to play with one today. Such a beautiful device:3 You just have to be lucky and ask the right people.

Okay. It's time for zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I will check in tomorrow, have fun....:)

Good night Gentlemen! Sleep well.

And ajdroidx - I don't believe you're alone. I know it's frustrating but remember, in the end, it's a phone. It will make things more fun but take a deep breath and get a good night's sleep and start again tomorrow.

I'm in a pretty big city outside of Chicago (you know it's big when its name shows up first when you zoom in to the area on Google Maps!), so I don't think that's the thing. Sometimes it has to do with the concentration of techies though; what I mean is that there's probably about 5 other people in my entire city that are interested in this phone as well... :P

But I haven't even gone into any stores besides the TCC in town to ask about this... and every time I call anywhere else I get the same unknowledgeable reps telling me the same lies over and over again. I don't think it has to do with my age if I'm only calling them.

You'd be surprised how often age or intelligence (not relating that part to you) can be conveyed over the phone. I used to have a Google rep when I was in marketing that would say "dude" to me all the time when I talked to him. It was annoying in first place since I am a woman and it also caused me to picture Spicoli from Fast Times at Richmont High whenever we were on the phone. I later spoke with his supervisor and asked for a new rep because of it.

Anyway, many times it isn't what you say, but how you say it that makes a difference.

Come onnn dude, this is what I'm talking about >_>
Literally nowhere nearby, and I mean nowhere, will I find a Nexus before next Thursday, I'm afraid :(

EDIT: lol, I used "dude" right after OTD said she could tell peoples' age by them saying "dude"...

Lol so this is why my girlfriend gets mad at me when I call her dude...

You could always try sulfur hexafluoride :D

That would make you sound 20 years older. :D

i'm about 20mins behind so i may be Ninja'd but i would assume they signed a contract they would sell x amount of devices...or they pay $xxxxxx for x amount!!! if VZW scraps the gnex i would assume they owe some amount money to samsung but i'm sure at the end of the day VZW will sell stock on hand and no longer order more devices

Thanks, you were not Ninja'd. I agree that no matter what Verizon will eventually sell the devices that were already made. But I guess for bargaining power, with products like phones that have a relatively small window in which they are "hot," Verizon could turn the screws on Google if Verizon's commitment is smaller than the number Google thinks it can sell. Anyway, here's hoping they work out whatever issues they may be having ASAP because I'm dying for a new phone and the Rezound looks tempting, even though I think I'd end up with buyer's remorse.

On that note, off to bed. Goodnight all.

I called Radio Shack in Downers Grove and they were all in for selling the 1 they had in stock. But since it would've been an hour drive I had to call back before I left and ask if they were sure they could, and low and behold they said no. It seems if you surprise attack a Radio Shack then you might get lucky. But by now, with so many of us in the Chicago area, I'm sure they have all been called and now are aware they can't sell them.

Samuel L. Jackson could be the store manager that throws out a customer after telling them that he has "no knowledge" of the Nexus.

Or... he could be the customer known affectionately as "Coach" that takes a baseball bat to the store windows after being stood up at midnight to buy a phone.

Just kidding Coach :D

My town is on the map too with 35K...but i'm from houston which the population is 6.3million...there is a difference in the way ppl handle things...most folk here think i'm paranoid when i lock my car when i go into the gas station to just buy a drink...just saying big city ppl are a lot less trustworthy than small town folks...i've gotten full disclosure where i'm at...if i went back to houston i KNOW they wouldn't be so forthcoming!!! IMO

You'll find one, no worries(: It's a bad habit, dude. xD

Ahhhh to be 16 again.

Lincoln taking office. The civil war was just starting. I remember the battle of Bull Run like it was yesterday. Good times. :D
