...so does that mean nothing?![]()
Pretty much. A few more people touched the unicorn, others are speculating about the cause of the delay (with links to others speculating), etc. The 15th is firming up

So who's going to best buy with me tomorrow? If I show up alone asking for it they may just shrug me off, but maybe we show in a big group and ask for it they'll decide to sell us the phone. Now wouldn't that be awesome?
I'm not really a fan of net neutrality either. I don't think there should be ANY regulations of the internet or it will start to get defined by federal regulators rather than the open market.
edit: I should preface my post below with the acknowledgement that I work for a Fortune 500 company that is amongst other things, a supplier of materials and processes to the semiconductor industry, including mobile handset divisions of companies that we all know and love and some love to hate on. I'm not a EE, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night (kidding) and I hobnob with a lot of MEs and EEs in the semi industries (not kidding). I'm an analytical chemist, FWIW.
I don't claim to know the answer to this specific question, but I do know this: not all LTE radios are created equal, nor are their power amplifiers and RF filters. It is perfectly conceivable that the combination of the above-mentioned chips (and likely additional chips) could have had a glitch when assembled in the way that they were in this particular phone, whereas some Moto chipsets might be a proven quantity (I don't know if the Bionic's chipset is the same as the Xyboard's). Like I said, I don't now the real answer, but I stand by my statement that some chipsets can behave differently from another, even though they are supposedly built to a specification.
Furthermore, the firmware that controls the communication between the chipsets and towers absolutely will be different for different makers and their corresponding chip-level design choices. I am hoping that if it is truly an LTE-related issue, that it can be resolved at this level.
Finally, not responding to you Early, but to others that claim "there are already Verizon GSNs out there and they don't have any problems, so it can't be an LTE issue.": wrong. It can very well be a regional thing. If anyone thinks that all LTE towers are absolutely identical, down to the switching center in every region, I would wager a very, very large sum of money that they are dead wrong. If Verizon wants to not have another Thunderbolt or Bionic (or whichever other phones were having problems, I know the Bionic was one of them) customer support/reputation problem on their hands, they are going to want to make sure that it is playing as nicely as they can get it to with their LTE systems in as many regions as they deem acceptable to them. This is consistent with the email that was read to me while at a Verizon store last Friday, which went along the lines of "This phone does not yet meet Verizon's high standards for quality.". This was the reason given to me for the delay of launch.
Now, Verizon may be blowing as much smoke (and/or have political motivations that are beyond our knowledge) as the general feverish population in an internet forum such as this, but that may or may not be borne out in the weeks and months to come.
All that said, I wish Verizon would just issue a press release with some information resembling an explanation. It would calm a lot of nerves and satisfy many customers until the device is actually released. Clearly, they do not completely understand the customer profile of the person that wants to buy this phone.
All that said, WHEN AM I GONNA GET MY NEXUS???!!!
Sigh.
Where was said best buy?
A lot of the testers that have had this phone for several weeks have been complaining about poor LTE performance/signal strength. That is substantial enough for me. GMK83 told us all he got 4.0.3 yesterday morning and that the update was for patching up lingering LTE issues. When there are people who have the LTE version for several weeks and they talk, I'm prone to listen to them/believe them over some anonymous sources who are likely getting there information from "office chatter"

Where in vt? And what iPhone? Maybe we could work something out if you have a 4s..
If Verizon issues a press release that indicates there's problems with a highly anticipated device working with its LTE network, the consequence to their stock price will be swift.
If Verizon issues a press release that indicates there are contractual issues between themselves and Google, the consequences to their stock price will be swift (you saw how they reacted when the mainstream media started to report they were 'blocking' Wallet)
That's why publicly traded companies don't give more info then the bare minimum. Bad news doesn't need a press release unless required.
I think in dealing with Verizon, George Carlin stated it best.
"Its all bull____ folks. It's all bull____, and its bad for ya."
Don't believe a word they say. Not a thing they do is in our interest, so don't give them credit. This is the data pipe turned into an angry spitting cobra which would sooner kill us and devour us than it would submit.
Give them no quarter, for they will offer none.
I, for one, support the more direct harassment of Verizon Corporate. The people working at stores, and the CSRs, have no power. It does nothing but upset people when we vent our frustration on lowly employees who are just trying to make a decent living and have no more power over the Nexus release than they do over the weather.
So, continue to fight the good fight, but strike at the heart, not the fingers.
You guys gonna be mad if even after the delay there's still no Google Wallet and we never find out what the hold up was about? I think I will be.
I have two BBs on my way home from the gym, I'll hit both shortly after opening tomorrow AM and report in , but I do not have high hopes

How about a link that _substantiates_ the idea that the delay is due to Wallet/ISIS? And no, speculation by a "source" doesn't count. Because their have been plenty of other "sources" that said that isn't true.
If the problem was something as serious as unresolved legal issues over Wallet and ISIS, they would not have made hundreds of thousands of these devices, they would not have shipped them to stores all over the country, and they wouldn't be targeting a release date less then a week away.
Wrong.
You want Net Neutrality. Net Neutrality means that the "open market" can't decide what sites they want you to be able to look at.
Net Neutrality is mandatory for an open internet. The Government tells industry they can't favor one person's content over the other. It promises a free Internet.
Imagine the wireless carriers and what they do to our devices expanded to broadband providers. Imagine if freedom of speech was not a "regulation"... Get the picture?
Did someone say there is an app for these boards? Droid struggling.

I have a positive Verizon's CSR experience to report. No mention of our much delayed GNex but it is is relevant.
If you remember a couple of days ago there was the report that some Verizon customers received coupons for $100 off the upgrade from a 3G phone to 4G and the coupons seemed to be in Illinois. I'm in Ohio and received no coupon.
I sent an email to customer support saying that I had heard Verizon was sending out these coupons and was wondering how I could go about getting one since I was interested in upgrading my OG Droid and 4G was just coming into my area.
This morning I got a call back, that I missed but their voice mail said they would email me instead. I logged into gmail on my computer (due to low memory my droid won't download gmail anymore) and there was a message. Unfortunately the message only said that they had missed me by phone and if my issue had not been solved to call in.
I called in to find out what had been the answer and found out that the $100 discount had been added to my account.
I don't know if that is plus the $30 discount I have because of the employer on my account or instead of, but I should be getting either $100 or $130 off the price of the phone provided it comes out before the discount expires (if I remember correctly it expires the 25th).
As always when dealing with customer service YMMV.

It’s too bad that AF is not a “multi-media” forum, meaning that it would be great if posts could be accompanied by sound. That way, each member could have a theme song.
