A very nice guy from Radio Shack just called me and said that I'm on the list, and he's already gotten 4 other calls about it today. (I'd called earlier and they said they'd get back to me).

He did say that the 15th was the day. I asked him how definite he was, and he said "We got an email directly from Verizon telling us that launch day is the 15th."

Does anyone know if I'd be able to use my loyalty discount at Radio Shack? Or is that only for Verizon stores?

Probably a ninja'd post cos I am behind but my Radio Shack cannot honor a loyalty discount tied to a specific date. For example, my final NE2 date is March 15. Radio Shack can't access that discount until that day. Or else I would be getting it from my buddy there instead of from my buddy at a premium seller of VZW.

That is sick! If I get anywhere CLOSE to that I will be floored.

I did the speed test for my home internet Road Runner with Turbo Boost and I'm not that fast.

I'm leaving Best Buy now. They said they're not getting in until the 15th. Fine I said. Can I pay for it now? No. But call us on Wednesday night and will put one aside from you. Fine. Whatever.

...If they intentionally missed a whole weekend of sales in December than I will have significantly less respect for Verizon. Thats just silly.
 
Awesome! Defense is where it's at. I played both long stick midi and defense in lacrosse, and defensive end and center in football, and I'm a center in men's league basketball!- I must say I did enjoy being on defense- decking a quarterback or little attack men, doesn't get better than that. :)

I coach a JV team we won two games this week.

I either have 2 hours of basketball practice or a game everyday for my JV team and then two hours of practice for my other two teams per week.

It's a LOT of work but I love my 3 boys and I LOVE basketball. Being 6'4" 210, it's what I did growing up. My youngest is an amazing point guard. My 3rd grader is 5' tall and my oldest is a shut down defender (never really an offensive threat but he can flat shut down most anyone on the court).

That doesn't make sense. If they had launched it on Friday, it would have had this weekend AND next weekend before Christmas to sell. I don't think more people are going to buy if they release later. If anything, the opposite is true, as more and more people get sick of waiting and either buy a different phone or take their business to another carrier.

Yeah, that makes no sense as a release earlier would help build even broader awareness before that weekend. The closer to that weekend the less those who are less informed than us ever realize it's a christmas option.
