The Pixel Qi has been on the Notion Ink Adam tablet since it came out.

The Mirasol display was initially too slow to keep up with fast action, and they've been improving that, generation by generation - and are now opening fabs for full production. South Korea recently got a new tablet with the Mirasol display - so far as I know, that's the first one.

When transreflective - there is no backlight - basically, think of the pixels as mirrors (e-ink) - the brighter your surroundings, the brighter the display.

The Pixel Qi is unique because it switches between transreflective and conventional LCD - best of both worlds: e-ink for outdoor use, lit display for dim, indoor viewing.

Mirasol is strictly transflective - no backlight at all.

Flash in the pan or the next big thing? I'm hoping, next big thing. :)

Yeah. I haven't seen either to have a feel for actual display quality though. From what I have seen in video or pictures most of the pure reflective are only so so in reflective and Pixel Qi seems pretty much to be a battery saver and just let me see it when backlit won't do option rather than something that you would want to use when you want a colorful experience. Basically I think there's a ways to go for it to be something we would WANT to use when backlit is sufficient to overcome the ambient light in your environment. Pixel Qi has promise though if the backlit mode can become competitive to good backlit displays and the reflective could be made more colorful somehow? I don't think the reflective mode has to be perfect ever as I see it more as a overpowering light or battery saver thing more than something most would ever want to use for video or pictures regularly. Kinda tough to say though as they could become far more colorful also and maybe are better than I am thinking in person.

I only go way off the menu if I'm in a place that I'm a regular at, and I will typically tip well over the standard 20% to show my appreciation. One bartender I know swears the kitchen staff actually enjoys when people ask for something different, because it's a change of pace from making the same things over and over. I don't ask for that kind of stuff in a chain restaurant, because the "cooks" are likely just working a microwave anyway.

OT, one more time:

at this point we pretty much have an entire "secret menu" available to our regulars. vegetarian meals, mixtures of wing sauces, low carb options, etc. if it gets ordered enough, we make a button for it.

the kitchen certainly does enjoy going off the menu. we have at least 10 wraps, sandwiches, and other dishes on our "secret menu" that were created by the guys back there. we don't advertise any of it, but strike up a friendly conversation with a staff member about their favorite things to eat and all will be revealed.

Everyone still up and alive??

Only barely. Just got home from a mind numbing night with family mostly all 25 and 30 years my seniors.

My husband bought me a $300 purse today and I still want some new boots. Dh thinks $300 for a phone is a little high (he just doesn't get it, although he did have a smile on his face when he said android phones may get added to his list of approved corporate phones before long), especially since he was with me when I checked out the Rezound and was quoted just under $200 for it. Rather than argue about it or settle for the Rezound, I may wait a few months and see what comes out.

Does he realize the phone will get used even more than the purse?

I'm interested in knowing how most of you refresh and stay on the thread here. Sometimes I use my laptop but most of the time I use my iPad 2. It's usually in my lap.

Mostly app, sometimes ipad2 if I'm home

I wanna come have dinner

For what it's worth guys I was in another Charlotte, NC corporate store tonight picking up a new case for my wifes iPhone and they did confirm they have about 50 GNEX's in stock but can't sell them. The tech told me that it is indeed the wallet/isis issue. He said he thinks that it will be resolved shortly and has heard that the 15th is the date. He said there is too much money at stake for all involved and he thinks Verizon will cave and just release the phone.

I know it's a store rep but just wanted to relay what I was told tonight.

Been following this thread but first time posting. Forgive me if this has already been reported.

I am in NYC and seen some on this thread had checked out the Nexus at Samsung Experience in the AOL building. I had not had a chance to get over there but decided to go to dinner in the AOL building tonight so I figured I would stop by and check it out. I am llooking all over for it and cannot find it. Finally a rep comes over and asks me if I need help. I told him I was looking for the Nexus demo unit. He said the phone has not been released. I said the phone has been on display here earlier this week and he says "well it is not and the phone has not been released and they do not display it." I explained the phone had been released throughout the world just not in the US. At this point He had a real attitude about the whole thing and I decided to just leave.

There store is full of items not released and "protype" gadgets so I an shocked this was his response. Further this seems like bad news since it was here last week and now gone. Anyone else have a similiar experience at Samsung Experience? If Samsung has pulled this from their flagship demo store I wonder what further implications this has. Keep in mind (from what heard) these demo phones when on display where not even activated on VZW so it is not like they were violating any agreement with VZW by displaying it.

As for Nexus reports in the city, I have found two stores that have inventory but of course are not selling them until VZW Ok's it. These have been authorized retailers, corp stores will not say anything about the phone other then it is delayed.
