I think I saw someone a while back ask for a top 10 list. Here's my crack at it. :)

Top 10 Reasons Verizon has not released the Nexus

10. It's not called the Droid Nexus
9. They want the free advertising and hype
8. It's much more fun to watch their customers squirm
7. They tried to pay Samsung and Google with ISIS and failed miserably
6. The Verizon Wireless marketing manager was about to release the ads and launch the phone, but then he took an arrow to the knee.
5. They want the AF galaxy nexus pre-release thread to hit 100,000 posts first
4. As a communications company, they are still figuring out how to properly communicate
3. They realized it was running too fast without their bloatware
2. They've decided to hold out for the SGS III
1. What they actually meant was "by the end of the century"

Notice anything different? :)

OT

This has been a HORRIBLE sports weekend in Cincinnati. Yesterday the Crosstown Shootout between Xavier and Cincinnati ended up in a melee, er . . . Battle Roy'ale which resulted in numerous suspensions and one bloodied eye.

Today the Bengals who held their own playoff destiny in their hands decided to hand it to the Texans with their 3rd string QB.

meh, at least I still have my Galaxy Nexus to play with to soothe my wounds. Wait . . . NOOOOOOO WHY!?!? That was taken away from me too when I had it in my hands!

WORST WEEKEND EVER!

OT Video if you are interested and didn't see it.

I like number three the best. "They realized it was running too fast without their bloatware". After all Verizon Wireless brags about how fast their 4G LTE is, not how fast their phones are, right?

BTW, I noticed someone posted on reddit asking about a black wallpaper on the Nexus. Would it appear to make the icons "float" on the phone's front (considering how black the screen gets)? Also, would it save battery because the pixels aren't powered at all?

Dial *611 hit 0 and say "sales" when they ask why you are calling. Have the CSR pull up all promos for your region. I hope for you too, he we can split the $50 difference $25 for me and $25 for you. Win Win!

if it works, ill paypal you $25 bucks haha

The more black, the less power AMOLED screens use.

OT:
Has anyone scored this many points in Fantasy? I think the highest I've ever scored was 175 and I'm getting pretty damn close here.

True, but how often will people have their phone on just sitting on the home screen vs. actually using the phone and running apps? :)

Yes but it would save a ton of battery when you are on the home or lock screen if you could be using almost no pixels. Also, it looks cool when the icons pop out on an otherwise entirely pitch-black frontside :)

I didn't attempt to conclude it would be worthwhile, but the more blacks on a AMOLED screen at a time, the less power it will draw.

Maybe I am just not the typical user, but I think I'm on the home screen maybe 1% of the time. Even if it was a 99% battery savings on an all black home screen, that's only a 0.99% increase in battery life. Just sayin'...
