***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Not bad, just rediculously overpriced, IMO.

OT:

This pretty much describes most 'fine dining' steakhouses. Ruth's Chris is at least one of the better chain ones. What tends to make them expensive is the sides are all separate.

One thing about Ruth's Chris.. they tend to have specials going on where you can get a three course meal for about $40/person. Have to choose from a limited menu, but they do usually have the smaller filet on it so not too bad.

It amazes me that Verizon hasn't said anything with all the negative comments on every comment of verizon's on facebook. Also with all the people who are on the vzwnexusfail bandwagon on twitter .

Can you say Verizon doesn't listen to or care about their customers? I don't need 100 people on the forum to tell me no crap Verizon doesn't care or they are a big business what did you expect?

I can't believe they haven't responded to all the negative press of this is getting them via social media networks.

Somebody needs to tip the wall street journal or another big publication or media outlet about the vzwnexusfail movement.

The 15th release day is definitely different than the 9th (although, yes, VZW still could postpone if they so desire.)

It's different because when the 9th got postponed, VZW apparently told their CSRs to take names / numbers and to notify those contacts of when the release would happen. That has happened across the country, as we know. That is different than the 9th, which was based simply on leaked documents and "sources." The 15th is coming from VZW reps.

Secondly, VZW has already told all of their corp stores TO SELL THEIR STOCK ON THE 15TH. They technically don't need another email, mailer, letter or instructs from HQ announcing this as a release. I think this is why so many stores feel very comfortable telling us to come get our phone that day.

Lastly, the 15th is National Cupcake day, and you can get a FREE ICE CREAM cupcake on that day! (no, it's not an ICS, but close!) So, of course it has to come out that day!!

Free Ice Cream Cupcake on Dec. 15 - Hey, It's Free!

I'll be up anyway. If orders go live I'm all over it like white on rice.

But why? If you order it Wednesday morning, you'll get it on Friday while the rest of us will get it Thursday!

Our loyalty discount applies too? This is going to be cheaper than my HTC Incredible LOL

That's what the CSR said.

Do u have to live in the Midwest or just mention it for the discount? I live in Texas but I'd love this discount!

The CSR told me it was midwest only, and they can tell by your billing address, obviously.

Probably because there is no 4G in the midwest

Chicago is saturated in 4G, and that's as midwest as it gets! :p

I've seen a few people say "Midwest" and that they got this to work. Has anyone from Milwaukee or south-eastern Wisconsin gotten this to work?

I've tried twice and so far nothing. We should be eligible though we haven't had 4G for that long and they are still currently expanding it. I'm going to try again later using the CH4GE code from the flyer.

Just tried the flier and they told it wasn't through Verizon and that I wasn't able to use it. Not sure what that means, but they were very strict about it. I'm guessing it's because it's from Illinois and I am not. Oh well, was definitely worth a try if it could have saved $100!

I called and asked about it as well. The rep wasn't able to find it, even with the promo code. I said I had heard about it, but that it might be a regional thing. Oh well, no big deal. I didn't want to lie and try to push the issue. I was just hoping it could possibly apply non-Midwest folks. :)

Yeah, you are. Knock that crap off. :p
We need positive thoughts.

Positive thoughts: We'll have the GNEX IN LESS THAN 72 HOURS (64 hours give or take a few minutes)

Individual thought: Just got a $50 best buy gift card from one of my sales reps so that just helps with the GNEX purchase.

Question: If we get the GNEX at BB, or RadioShack can we still go to a VZW corp store for any warranty issues or what not?

Not corp stores within a 75 mile radius of me. Unless they are all lying to me.

Luckily things are slow at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Im already off that day.

OT: Come ski Jackson Hole! Shameless plug, as if we need one;)

Oh and Im not going to hold my breath, but Ive got a good feeling about this.

We will be there in February :)

Has anyone had success getting their loyalty discount date bumped so they can use it on a nexus? Can you even use it on a nexus? My loyalty discount is on 12/29 and I don't want to wait. Advise?

Quick question for my fellow Nexicans (sorry, I stole that title... be flattered, not mad),

Should I make an appointment at Verizon for Thursday? I saw in another post someone who had a friend at the VZW store made him an appt. for 9AM. Is this what time of day we are assuming it will be available? I mean I don't want to make an appt. for 9AM if the official launch isn't until noon.

And before someone says, I know no one knows for sure. As a newbie, I'm looking more for people who have been through this time and time again with other phones. So other than the one that launched on the ceremonial 11:11am, what has the common trend been? And is an appt. necessary, or would a walk-in suffice?

Thanks in advance!!!!
-AJ

Just bumping this up as I did not see a response. Thanks so much =)

But why? If you order it Wednesday morning, you'll get it on Friday while the rest of us will get it Thursday!

I say it now that I would order online. But I'd probably hesitate to pull that trigger because I want it NOW. Not later. Lol. Instant Gratification and all that.

I had a confirmed appointment for the 9th with a corporate store, so while this certainly seems credible, I will have to wait before I let the exuberance get the best of me.

I'm up and running on my new lappy.. 1920 x 1080p goodness. How do I look on my new toy? (Steven pulls in his stomach). :P

Congrats! I'm still loving my Asus G73JW but am looking forward to getting a new powerhouse laptop once Intel releases its Ivy Bridge chipset. If only we could cram that power into a Nexus...

Awesome I love Verizon. I called and tried using the code. The csr not only told me no such thing existed, but if I wanted the discounted price all I needed to do was add another line on my family plan ... oh really? I can get a discounted price if i sign up for a new two year plan? Now that's better than just 100 off. Try it out maybe some of y'all could take advantage of this new promotion. You dont even have to be from Chicago!!!
