***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I just called customer service and she told me that I could upgrade early but it would have to be done over the phone. Has anyone else ran into this issue? I am fairly sure that many people have just got the early upgrade noted on their account so they can walk into a corporate store and buy the phone. The CSR told me I could try and walk into a corporate store and see if a manager would let me upgrade early. I would like to think that upgrading a couple weeks early wouldn't really be a problem but I don't know the normal policy of the stores.

When I called last week they told me the same thing. Right after the phone call ended, I called my local store and was told they would not be able to help me out in the store unless the customer service person I talked to over the phone actually changed the date and did not just put a manager's approval notation on my account. Needless to say, I'm just going to order over the phone the second I can, and if I have to wait an extra day for the phone, I'm fine with it.

EDIT: well that initial image post failed

9:33 EST which would be 8:33 CST, I get what you were referring to now.

But is there really any significance?

last time it was updated was Friday at 12:55 AM so I would say yes, someone is messing with it for a reason

here is the big problem, who even knows what the promo really is? you were told it's for the midwest and northeast....ive heard midwest, ive heard chicago only, ive heard business only, ive heard trade-in credit...and from others ive heard that it doesn't matter it's for anyone

how can you cheat to get a promo if no one really knows what it is?(aside from the photoshopping stuff)

the CSRs have our info in front of them when we call, and if they are convinced we should get a discount and give one, that's their call

and apart from that, how crappy is it to run a promo that only goes to customers in certain regions?

will people please stop quoting the Public Service Announcement photo... quite annoying lol. Use hide or delete the pic please.....

thank you :-)

Aren't you getting your nexus for free? Maybe you will actually make $100; you deserve much more than that for putting up with all of us!

As his brother from another mother, I'll answer for him, I know he won't/doesn't know what to say about it all, still.

Steven is still shaking from the love on that one.

Steven is kind, caring, compassionate and honorable to a fault.

What is seen and perceived about his gentle and caring nature in the forums is but a shadow of how this great man lives his everyday life and walks among us, innocent to the idea that there is any other way to walk in life than goodness.

Knowing Steven as I do, if there is but one penny in surplus, he'll spend hours in prayer before giving away two to those less fortunate - just to make sure.

He really is that kind of guy.

Steven - I know this embarrasses you, and I am deeply sorry for that. But someone has to say it, it's only the truth.

Wait, so now I'm confused... anyone in Ohio successful with the $100 discount? If so, did you mention the code (btw, is it CH4GE, CH4NGE, or CH4GNE2??) or just "3g to 4g promotion"?

TIA

I kind of have to agree. My assumption going in was that there were promos available and that if I qualified for it or not, the CSR would know much better than I. I also find it hard to believe there is consequence for putting a note on an account. As a bunch of us have said, there is no guarantee it actually saves us anything yet.

Luckily, I'm in NY so it probably applies to me anyway...

At this point I've come to terms with probably not getting the discount. If by some miracle I get it when i buy the phone then so be it but seeing as how I can't get a measly $30 NE2 moved 2 weeks I just don't see it.

Besides I work for the government so ultimately it's your money I'm spending so who cares if I get the discount. :D:p

I'm kidding of course. I actually work very hard to earn the money the government pays me and it is my salary so I am spending money out of my pocket.

This is right on so many levels! :D

We even have a Lounge thread to emphasize the importance of the concept -

http://androidforums.com/lounge/409419-post-your-shoes-d.html

Here's a snap of mine from that very thread -

Awesome! First of all LOVE anything leopard print...

Secondly, if you know anything of shoes at all...well I have one very EPIC pair of blue sparkly Christain Louboutins in leopard print that I drool on every time I look at them. They were a very special anniversary gift from my husband and I swear I feel like a millionaire every time I wear them...but I digress. How about that Nexus, huh? :D

BREAKING EPIC EPIC EPIC WIN on the part of this board
to demonstrate how the verizon url works someone load in poop salad so it displayed in the header, google picked up on it and it's now an indexed page

Haha. I typed in shop.verizonwireless poop salad on google and it was the first thing there, followed by page 1456 of this thread where poop salad was mentioned earlier. Lol

Good News For My Pennsylvanians:
Received the 3G to 4G Promo Code today. This has a different code on it, which may be why some of you aren't able to use the other. After I set this up with my account tomorrow, I will gladly share it (if it is allowed here).

Ahh...this could be why we have more success with mentioning 3g to 4g promo aspect only. May be for lots of regions, but be different code for each region.

ONCE AGAIN THAT ONLY MATTERS ON PAGES THAT LOAD SHTML ELEMENTS, AKA SERVER SIDE HTML

IF THE SITE IS STATIC HTML LIKE SAY vzw.com/galaxynexus IT WILL STILL HAVE THE DATA FROM THE SERVER NOT FROM YOU

to see it you have to turn off redirecting so you can see that page on not the landing page it meta refreshes you to

Spose if we get to 100k posts he is a shoe-in for President?

Went into another Radio Shack to see if i can atleast demo a SGN just to play with. Turns out the lady was willing to sell me one. End result, I didn't get it, said its on hold till Thursday. Cool beans! Now then onto the weird part.

Upon boot-up the device came across what seemed like a recovery loader screen with the green android character, with the words "downloading, do not turn off target!".

I've done my share of flashing, bricking, updating, etc, but does anyone have any idea what im talking about/seen this? I snapped a picture of it on my gf's phone so I'm waiting on her to send it to me. Does this mean the recovery portion of the phone has access to the cell's data/wifi connection?

Yup I got it to work. (Columbus, OH) I didn't mention any of the stuff like CH4GE or the official title, just described the flyer and the CSR looked it up for me. It did take me three calls to get someone willing to do the leg work, but persistence prevailed. The CSR described how he found it after it was done and it was similar to the doorway line described by others. Hope this helps!

While what I said was true, zed was talking about the blank white page you get when you first enter the URL, which then redirects you to the email sign up page.
