Here's a new and crazy story for you. I call up to try and get the $100 promo and strike out. CSR was really nice about it and tried her best to see if any of what she found applied to me. Next I try to see if she can at least move my NE2 up from the 27th. Nada. Can't even get that moved up a lousy 2 weeks.

So they while I'm talking to her I mention that I get no service while I'm at work. We go through all the usual stuff with her looking up trouble reports and tower locations for my work location and she find nothing. At this point she transfers me to tech support and she goes through a couple questions with me about resetting the phone and if I have trouble anywhere else. I tell her that it just at work and that everyone else there with Verizon has no signal either. This is where it gets interesting.

She offers to send me a refurb replacement or do an early upgrade with her on the spot. I tell her I'm waiting for the the Galaxy Nexus and I don't want to upgrade until it is released. This is where she proceeds to tell me that Sprint is getting it first and she doesn't know when Verizon is getting it. Those were her exact words. At this point I'm like what? Then she proceeds to try again to push me to do an upgrade. I politely told her that I'm hearing that Verizon is getting it first and very soon and that I'm not interested in upgrading to anything but the Nexus and this is where the call ended.

Realizing how little Verizon lets its employees know but this is a 2nd tier tech support person telling me Sprint is getting it first. How crazy is that?

Sounds like she is trying to get you to settle for something else so you'll buy a phone from her....sounds pretty shady! You should've given her the web address to this blog.

I **Should** go to bed. However, I slept all weekend due to a cold and am wide awake. I could watch TV or play Skyrim, but I'd rather obsess over a piece of technology. I have a problem yeah? :D

We all do! Haha. I will be going to bed soon....I hope. I'm off tomorrow but still....it's 3am for me. Gotta get enough beauty sleep so my face unlock doesn't break when I finally get my phone! :p

I'm awake and ready to obsess... lol. And I've had my XBox paused for like 3 hours and it's only 2 feet away from me, lol.

Haha... it's 4AM, so I'm an extra hour closer to breaking the face unlock. Haha. Sleep is for people who already have their perfect phone. I need to stay up as much as possible over the next couple of days so I can actually try to sleep the night before the "launch" (knock on wood).

Haven't touched the XBOX, PS3 or Skyrim (PC) in days. I will finally get relief if my early access for SW:TOR starts tomorrow. That is about the only thing that can drag me from this thread.

I am SO weak :P I'm 23 with the sleeping patterns of my grandmother. I'm surprised I made it this long!

Finally unpaused... just pitched a 4-hit shutout with Lincecum. Ahhh, feels good...lol. Not as good as if I had my nexus in my lap while playing, but ya take what you can get.

I usually go to bed between 2 and 3 AM PST. The last week I have had a cold and been in bed early, so while it seems late for me, it is actually somewhat normal. :)

Yeah, I used to be that type too. But then I got fired from my job and became completely nocturnal. Now I'm doing school online, so it doesn't matter what time I'm up/sleeping. I don't sleep much nowadays though... maybe 4 hours a night if I'm lucky. Just a busy mind! Always gotta be doing something!
 
Well today's the day I think we'll either starting hearing affirmation for the 15th (or maybe an announcement...one can hope) or if this 20th rumor has weight. Then again, if the source of the 20th rumor were from CSRs then I give no credence to it all unless they start saying it in droves.

From what I've heard - CSR's each have a different opinion. I called a CSR today to ask about the "Iconic List". I didn't know what it was and I wanted to make sure I wasn't impacted by it. Long story short, the Nexus was brought up and the guy said something to the effect of "Communication from corporate to the CSRs is terrible. Different CSRs have their own opinions and I hear them telling customers that. I'll tell you this right now, the 15th is what I'm hearing, but it's far from in stone".

So it sounds like a lot of CSRs would rather have an answer than not have one. Even if that means they are full of BS. I bet we hear something today... but I doubt it will be in the form of a highly publicized announcement. It'll be another leaked document or "straight from the horse's mouth" rumor.

It won't be the 20th. If anything, the 26th would make more sense.
 
Ok, look, it's just past midnight in Hawaii. Now or never, Verisoftlaunchon. If we go any farther west, we hit Guam, but it's already Tuesday night there.

Well that's why I don't give any weight to what they say until we consistently start hearing it (like the 9th and the 15th). We've heard CSRs say different dates this year and some have even said "next year". Now unless if today and tomorrow we start hearing the 20th get thrown around more...

I swear when I bought the Droid X on the release date, it didn't get updated on the website until like 7 am eastern time, I could be wrong though.

Nope, you're exactly right. At least as far as I remember. I wasn't as into the whole "get the phone the day it comes out" type shtick as I am now... but I remember wanting another phone (maybe the Droid 2 or whatever was out at the time) and seeing the list I had been looking at the night before updated with a new phone (the X). I immediately searched and found nothing but rumors - didn't see any official statements until later that morning.
 
Where'd everyone go? I'm sitting here going crazy in anticipation. The only thing worse than not being able to shake off the feeling of extreme anticipation is doing it all by yourself, lol.
