Exactly...My buddy made me watch Indiana Jones, and I know they are classics and won all these awards and what not, but I did not enjoy them to be perfectly honest. Hate all you want, I have seen THOUSANDS of movies and Indiana Jones was not enjoyable for me. Should I keep going? I have a list of other movies that are over rated...

I got the promo! I called Verizon and got it.... I live in the pittsburgh area and said my mail is usually a day or so later than everyone else and was seeing online on various sites and forums about a 3g to 4g promotion. She looked in to it and said I qualify and put a note in my account to get it. So i canceled my radioshack reservation and am going to the verizon corporate store to play it safe when the galaxy nexus is finally released to make sure I get the promotion and phone.

I haven't been completely following things lately, but I figured I'd throw this out.
I stopped by my RS again today asking about the Nexus (I'd previously been told they have them but can't sell em). He said no problem, we can sell you one. I said great, can I buy it now and activate it later since I'm using my wife's upgrade for it. He said no, you have to activate it now. I said, alright, I'll be back later tonight, can you set one aside for me. He said no problem and took down my name.
Well, I left and then went back in to just double check. I asked about whether it has a micro-sim or regular since we're swapping phones. He double checked in the back room and said it was a micro and that I'd have to get a new one but it wasn't a problem.
Anyway, I'll be going back tonight to see if it'll work.
I know it's happened a couple times that folks have gotten really far to walking out the door but either activating or purchasing have stopped them in their tracks.
Any idea what my chances are? Either way, hopefully I'll at least get to see the bloody thing!

Speaking of the thread finally coming to an end after the release of the phone. I would like to suggest a time frame. I believe that 3 hours after the last store closes on the west coast would be fair.That gives everyone a chance to post the "I Got It Finally" post, If it goes on even later than that all the better.I just dont want the west coasters to be shut out.

Update: so I just got off the phone from my guy at Freedom wireless. This is the same person that told me just two nights ago that he had heard nothing.
He said he just finally got word (within the last hour) from Verizon for the go ahead on Thursday. He set an appointment for me for 9:00AM!!!!!

I just spent over 30 minutes on the phone with a very pleasant and persistent rep. She tried and tried to find a promo that would work for me, going through every listing she could find. She insists it should show up automatically when you place an order. She placed several dummy orders but -- no go. All the codes came back as invalid.
She said she would check with her supervisor when he gets back and see if he can do anything.
You live in Texas. The promotion is only for the Midwest and the Northeast.

It means a lot if you can save a $100 when you do buy a cell phone.

Just trying to help others get the promo, seems it takes more than a few calls to get it to go in your favor.
Verified Costco 12/15, HH Gregg 12/15, radio shack 12/15.
My brother is the hh source so that one I believe. The other two I just called and they said 12/15.
It appears as though the system is updated. Of course, another issue may arise. Don't shoot the messenger!!!
Mine is on hold at hh. However my dilemma is I have 400 in best buy gift cards. I prob should buy there. Or get myself something cool hahaha. But that isn't financially responsible, as my lovely wife would say.
And I can't argue. She is the serious bread winner in this house.

Same results here...have a feeling all the people with their "accounts noted" are gonna be pissed come thursday...these discounts are not things that can just be added..they are preprogrammed to specific phone numbers...if yours isnt in the system for that discount, it does not apply...simple as that

Off Topic:
Maybe you're right, you'll hate them. I just don't get why you refuse to watch them. I watched 2 of the LOTR movies, and I didn't really care for them much so I didn't watch the others.
It just reminded me of my nephew who said he hated broccoli until he actually tried it and turned out, he really liked it.
Just saying give it a chance, worst case, you lose a couple hours. Probably less time than you've "wasted" here.
