***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I took another crack at getting the CH4GE discount yesterday. Long story short, no go. The rep said she'd be willing to give it to me, despite not being in the MidWest, but I don't qualify because I don't have a 3G phone (still rocking an LG EnV3).

She then looked around to see what discounts are available. She made a lame attempt to sell me a Bionic, which she says she has a loves, with the 4g for 2g data pricing that's been going on. When I demurred, she looked at the specs for the Nexus. As she read them off, the tone of her voice got more and more excited, and she finally said "Yea! I can see why you're waiting for this. Well, let me see what I can do." She also mentioned the customer service folk just had their weekly training devoted to ICS as well.

Nothing definitive -- no price, no release date. But! she suggested keeping a close eye on the Verizon site, saying that there will be some sort of discount when it is released. Not sure if she said it'd be $100 or if she was referring back to the CH4GE deal, but she was quite clear that there'd be some sort of discount.

So now I wonder... if there is a soft launch tomorrow, is it worth waiting for the more official announcement in hope of a discount? Decisions decisions... (I hope!)

Yeah look at that. My store now says 8am for tomorrow. Said 9am yesterday.
 
This thread doesn't HAVE to get ugly. You have the choice not to respond to negative posts. You have a choice to focus on the "prize". You can stop setting deadlines that if not met, the phone is not coming. Remember, more times than not the misery we endure, has been created by us. That all being said, I don't think things will change in this thread, nor should they. The founders created this forum for us to be able to speak our mind while remaining respectful of others. We for the most part all play nice together. This place is like family for many of us. One BIG, addictive family. It is complete with laughter and disagreements just like real families. We may not always agree with each other, but I'm betting when the chips are down, we'd be there for each other...I've already seen it in action. These are MY observations of this forum and you can agree or disagree with my assessment. That's what's great about this collection of Nexus misfits. I plan on enjoying the day and keep hope for tomorrow.

Last night someone noticed that all Verizon Wireless Corporate stores listed in the "Find a Store" database, had Thursday completely missing. Now it's back. The thought was that it was missing because they were opening up early and didn't want anyone to know. Mine is still opening at the same time, 9:00.

Gah last night was crazy fun must have taken me 2 hours to fall asleep I'd been better off back here on the puter!

I'm about to order a TPU case, and sorry if this was asked 83000 times but which one do you think looks (or will look) the best with the Verizon LTE model? Glossy or Matte (and Black or Smoke?)? Thanks for your opinions :) I'm just really indecisive :p

I'd be perfectly happy with that IF they do one day delivery. I could get it delivered to my office and avoid dealing with driving and people as much as possible!
