I work at Macy's until Midnight tonight. The corporate store is just a few stores down from us. I will stop in before they close and ask if there are any changes for tomorrow. Either way, I will report back as soon as I get home or on my break (battery life pending). This could all change at the drop of a hat tomorrow morning, but I PRAY that this thing drops tomorrow. I am ready for my Nexus. We WILL be the next big thing to Apple's iPhone!!
 
I wonder if my store will open early? Says 9am on the site still. Maybe I'll text my new friend later tonight and ask. Hopefully that will be confirmation enough of a release tomorrow.

i ordered a matte smoke cover. i am not a big fan of glossy phone covers as they tend to show scratches and other imperfections more than their matte counterparts. i went with smoke because someone mentioned it was slightly transparent and i think that's fairly rad.

Just got back from my corporate store and it was a no go on the soft launch. I am slightly worried because she said they haven't actually received stock in yet, but were expecting it today by 7:00 pm. I tended to beleive her because she acutally brought out all the acces. and showed them to me and told me they have had them for over a month. She checked her system while I was checking out the acces. and said there was no news of a delay and she felt very confident that it will be released tomorrow. She took my name and number and said she will call when they get their stock in and even said she would tell me how many they got in. She seemed pretty sincere so I want to beleive her, just a little worried about the no stock yet. 11 hours and 5 minutes til we get our precious.

Since Verizon will never have a Nexus again, it won't happen.

If she's expecting it by 7pm, that's a good sign. I'm sure a lot of stores will be getting final shipments today for sale tomorrow.

Cheetara once told me that some stores get stock the morning of!

I'm very familiar with the process I am a mechanical engineer and plastic injection molding is my specialty. If the parts were both made at the same manufacturer, most likely they either order a pre-mixed batch of the color ( say GE plastics which was actually bought out by an Arabic company named Sabic they would mix it before packaging it and selling it). or they are mixing it in the factory themselves but either case the parts should be the same color. There are some injection parameters that could change the part slightly such as flow marks, which are usually caused by fillers added to plastic.....if you have a poly carbonate and add fiber glass to i to stiffen it up you can see lines from the plastic flowing into the mold. My guess is they are using some type of PC/ABS blend for improved drop test. Anyway im way off on a tangent but a company like apple uses top notch suppliers and this should have been a no brainer....I have visited a die caster in China and plastic injection molder that make parts for apple and they should have been able to do this no problem. The die caster made all of the power and volume buttons for the iphone and Ipad I believe, they wouldn't say who it was for BUT he gave me the wink wink nod nod and let me look at the parts and that's obviously what it was for.

Definitely let us know... 34th St is the one I'm planning on going to and all the NYC corp stores are all grumpy about sharing info.
 
Verizon stock is up, even with the market down. Maybe investors are expecting the Nexus to be announced today! I could only wish!
