Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Damn, you guys are awesome.. Bloodawn and Koumajutsu what you have afforded in earnest trial and error and hours of time... your own spare time at that.. It's amazing! I am very greatful for what you have put together for this phone that I thought might not just be a small smooth running device and then you made me change my mind again. So far, the battery life has been a warm welcome to not have to be super careful about battery drainage.

What are your future plans with this phone? Is there any more improvements to be made you are thinking of tackling or do you think this is total optimization on the Prevail? Also will there be CTMod ported to Precedent? I have a couple friends and family inquiring which means donations, of course. :)

Great job team.

Hey Blood...quick question...I see "android.iqd" running as a cached background process....will not stop or go away even on reboot....is that normal with Carrier IQ removed?
Thanks for this awesome ROM!!!:)

your seeing this with ctmod installed? where at? I don't see it anywhere

I'm not sure what I'll do next

at one time i was thinking about doing a ctmod for the Precedent but after i saw the way shit went for shabby i changed my mind, I don't feel like dealing with dumbasses stealing my work

Market showed an update for Zeam this morning. Just a heads up for the next release.

Also, maybe there is an easier method, but, since Zeam is a system app, before I allow the update, I use Titanium to convert it to a user app then do the update. After the update, I convert it back to a system app. This avoids the wasted memory that results from updating a system app. Of course, you can also use Root Explorer to move it to back and forth instead of TB. I also do a CWM backup before most updates, especially on something as critical as a launcher, since a glitch in this can be a real pain in the butt.

I think that Maps had an update yesterday, but of course that is not stock on CTMOD.
How does that work Wyelkins? I dont see the option in TB.

I too have found that I am not getting quite as good of battery as I used to.
I modded gb to and had better then decent battery then I decided to go with ctmod, for the ciq removal. I find the battery drain is slightly higher.
I also found that with ciq removed on froyo I am unsure why that is it seems counter intuitive as with less processes it should be better.:(

My battery life is getting better over time, but not as high as I had it with Shabbymod after following the new optimus system. So many things have changed and overall the phone is MUCH better. Part of the problem is that once I put A2SD on, I had so many apps running that I got sloppy with policing all their options that drink juice, like sync frequency, notifications, status icons, etc. I switched from FriendCaster Pro to Facebook and seem to notice some improvement from that and swiching from Weatherbug Elite to Beautiful Widget Home Weather Screen also helped once I got the settings right. I have a weak signal quite a lot near home, so that puts some strain and I got rid of my other ISP so I don;t have WIFI except from the tether program.

I do notice that during the day when I am using the phone like normal people, phone, text, using company data entry app. The battery does very well. When i have free time and start doing Phandroid downloads, CWM backups and Zip installs,TB backups, Market installs etc. It does start to go down faster.

I have not been keeping good recordrs, but I believe that a fully charged battery is lasting me about 18 to 24 hours and that is with pretty heavy use at night. I harly turn on my laptop at night once I get home. If I just used the phone like someone who is not a fanatic, the battery would probably last at least 2 days.

I've been using CTMod 2.3 for a little over a week and can't say enough good things about it. I showed my phone to a co-worker who has a stock Prevail and he remarked how much more responsive my phone is. As of CTMod 2.3, I've had zero issues.

And since I'm a professional dev who appreciates quality work, here's an early Christmas gift of 30.00, Bloodawn (donated).

Thank you bro, I really appreciate it. I'm glad everything has been working good for you

I'm currently running Hroark's original CM7 mod, but need to try some different prl updates to try and get a decent signal from home which from what I understand CT mod will support whereas CM7 does not.

My question is, can I go straight from CM7 to CTMod 2.3 or do I need to stand on my head, odin back to stock and all that junk?

it depends on which cm7 u have, if you have 3.5 you can just flash ct2.3, but if you have cm7 2d you will have to odin ej06 then flash ct2.3

Since your on the original cm7 you gotta Odin to ej06 rooted with cwm then you can flash 2.3

You can also flash prls before applying cm7. That's what I did and it will stay after cm7 is flashed

Why a new camera? 2.3 fixed it.

Yeah, I meant the actual hardware.

An update after a week and half: CTMod has been working out so well, decided to get my wife a galaxy prevail for Christmas instead of one of the newer android offerings from boost. Thanks again!

Hi Bloodawn,

Will SetCPU work with this mod? Or is it a waste of time considering all of the tweaks you have done? Just curious... and I appreciate your work. I hope you got my donation, albeit small, it was what I can afford.
