Google Wallet - No Root Needed :)

Do you need 4.0.2 for this to work? I have a GSM nexus (samsung build) on 4.0.1 and I get something that says it's not supported in my country.

Right, but if I'm on the computer when I come across the link - it is quicker to just download to dropbox and open in dropbox app. I guess technically I could chrome2phone the web address and then do it the way you suggested, but I'm not usually roaming the internet on my phone. That's not to say I don't use the browser, but I just use it for my bookmarks most of the time. That make sense? I ramble sometimes so I can never be sure, lol...

In my case, I saw the link on droid life when I was in a bar last night. I used the browser and was quickly able to downloaded it and use it at a drug store a few blocks away! Slick!

I downloaded it and installed it. In ten minutes I got my free 10 prepaid card. Works flawlessly for me. CVS and Walgreens, as well as gas stations usually take it. I had it on my Nexus S for sprint and I did not expect to get another 10 card. But el Goog pulled through!! Love my Nexus

THANKS OP!

This was my one gripe about the phone but I just downloaded and installed and I have $10 to shop with for the holidays! This is awesome.

Now another question re: NFC. I'm using a case for my SGN. Am I going to have any issues with NFC connecting with PayPass due to the case? Hoping not, but you never know.

Will it work if the screen is locked? The instructions say to wake the screen...do I have to unlock it too or is just waking it up good enough?

I also have this, but I rooted first and then put it on. Also just loaded up another $20 from my Visa debit. Glad I came across this thread or I may have never figured out how to add funds, as I thought you had to have a Citi Mastercard.

Went to wallgreens and tried google wallet. They had paypass machines, but could not get it to work. Do I need to actually tap my phone on it, or do I just hold the phone in front of the pay machine?

I believe nfc's range is 2cm so you will need to be as close as if you were going to tap with the screenon (and the app open?).

+1 confirming that just installing the APK to a Verizon Galaxy Nexus without rooting works perfectly fine. Went to two different places and both worked without an issue. You do need to make the phone pretty much physically touch the sensor at the register but it does work perfectly fine. I had the phone awake and unlocked but didn't have to open the Google Wallet app, it worked automatically just from the home screen. Google bought me some coffee and a candy bar :)

Just went to Best Buy and bough a $10 gift card. Can confirm it worked through my case, which is the one from Verizons case/holster combo. At first when I touched it to paypass it said google wallet had stopped working. Swiped again and same thing, but after a few seconds it went through. Anyone know why it does this? My device is rooted.

I was hoping there was an easier way to add funds to the Google card.

I logged onto Google Wallet - a smart, virtual wallet for in-store and online shopping. Signed up, and added my banks visa card.

Then I installed the wallet app without a problem. Signed up for a google card and magically got the $10 on the account. When I go to my phone to add funds to the Google card its asking me to input all my CC info (not seeing it as saved from the website setup)

When I go to the website, I see my Visa CC there, but don't see the Google card to add funds too.

What am I missing? Or do these two not sync together?

Excellent! Thanks for posting. I have the shell/holster VZW case as well and was hoping it'd work through the shell

I can confirm it works through the Diztronic TPU case. Went to a Mickey D's and bought my friend and myself meals. First time I used it and it seemed like i had to hold it to the reader until the transaction went through. With the $10 dollar included GC I picked up lunch for under 3 bucks :)

A little different than the PayPass card where I could just swipe my CC across it.

The cashier gave me a funny look when he saw me holding up my phone trying to pay for the food.

Just bought myself a candy bar on Google's dime with my phone. The clerk thought I was crazy for putting my phone up to the reader... and even crazier when after it worked I started to say "maniacal laugh... maniacal laugh... maniacal laugh..."
