Siyah Gingerbread kernel (v2.x)

Interesting indeed. Thanks for sharing.
In all the full wipes I've done, I've never once lost my APN settings.
Very strange.

Its as happened to me whilst restoring once from Rom manager. Lost all my settings but of course I had no back ups at the time to restore my efs. Guess your more prepared than I was. Stranger things have happened.

On smartassv2 I got a drain of 15% over 10 hours last night. This was at 500-1200 mind with wakelocks visible on BBs (RILJ , ALarmManager, Activity manager - launch , to be honest my list is a bout 30 wakelocks all with around 1second timers on them.

When I consult the battery chart there is quite visibly a gap when I was asleep. I guess the wakelocks I did experience were not significant enough for this chart yet enough so to drain 15% from my battery. Sync is off and Wifi is off overnight. I always clear cache and running apps before bed too.

the BBS pic isnt very accurate as this wasn't a screenshot from when I first switched on my phone but the actual wake locks shown are he same.

Will try ondemand tonight and UC to 100-800.

I'm getting the impression that 2.6.7 is a very good kernel from comments from Hawker, Ironass and Leondb below. Slug, how are you finding it? Anyone else got good or bad reports?

2.6.7 battery seems great for my use. After 25 and a half hours, i've still got 42% left. Running at 200-800, with everything else as out of the box.

Thats after a couple of phone calls, a few text messages, bit of facebook, some playing about with the spotify app & an hour or so of poker :). Very impressed & hopefully will get me to 2 days without a charge.

Gokhan has raised the bar since the 2.6.6 release in my opinion.
It's a cut above the rest at the moment in terms of smoothness.
Battery wise for me, neak is on par.

Cheers for the input guys. Do you need any additional downloads to optimise 2.6.7 or is it "plug and play"? I have to admit, all the options that Gokhan threw out there a little while ago kinda put me off the whole kernel.

I too was a little confused by all the other add on talk, however all I've changed is min & max mhz (to 200-800). Otherwise i'm running as 'plug & play' with great results

Settings->Accounts and sync -> pick the account you want to adjust ->Account Settings->Sync Schedule. Some apps that sync don't allow you to adjust them but your exchange and gmail accounts will.

I don't have account settings or sync schedule options on mine, all i have is autosync for facebook gmail

I know facebook won't allow you to adjust sync schedule but Gmail allows you to adjust what you want to sync just not the schedule. The schedule works mainly for Exchange Activesync accounts you create. Apps like Facebook should allow you to set a frequency for syncing but they don't so I turned off Syncing of contacts.

quick question, if i install 2.6.7, i will need to do a full wipe or just cache & devlik?

if i do this will my installed app from the market be deleted?

I use hawker's, thermo-nuclear, kernel cleaner before flashing a new kernel, see here:-

http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-...469630-my-gs2-cleaner-script-v1-2-now-up.html

It does not interfere with your app's, etc:

The other way of doing it is described by Slug, in post #1061, above.

Again, it does not interfere with your app's, etc:
