Hi all...
I'm posting this in the "all things root" section because I'm wondering if there is something wacky with partition and apps2sd on my MikG ROM...
So I regularly check The Market and wherever else I downloaded from to see if there are updates available for my installed apps. I'm rooted with MikG v2.61 with a 2GB partition for apps2sd using Titanium Pro as my backup. As many of you are familiar with the process, you download the new version, the old version is replaced and all is good.
I'll then go over to Titanium and run a batch install of the new version. I generally keep about 3 or 4 versions backed up using Titanium.
So I go over to Titanium, run the batch and notice an app that I have had for a long time and use regularly, 'Grocery Pal" labeled as "new" rather than "new version" suggesting that it has never been installed or backed up before. Hmmm...
So I check Titanium and my app drawer and, as I already knew, I DID have the app installed previously.
The version previously on my phone was 1.1.2 and the new Market version was 1.1.3. I figured it was just a little temporary Titanium bug not associating the new download and install with my previous backups so I went ahead and did the batch backup.
When that was complete, I returned to Titanium and my app drawer to see that I now have 2 different versions of the SAME app on my phone!! Take a look:
It is NOT a question of one version being "free" and the other "Pro"...it is version 1.1.2 and 1.1.3.
Now here's more weird stuff and my question...
The icon in the screenshot from Titanium indicates one version is installed in internal memory and the other external...odd I thought because I am partitioned....
Any idea why this happened?? Is it an issue with the developer doing something with the latest version 1.1.3 where it was "tagged" wrong or whatever and failed to associate itself with the older version 1.1.2 and replace the app, instead installing along side??
Is there an issue with my partition "not allowing" or otherwise permitting the new app version 1.1.3 to properly "find" and associate itself with the older version 1.1.2??
And perhaps not at all associated with my above "double app" issue but a separate issue...why is Titanium marking one version of the same as installed "internal" and the other "external"??...or is that something that the developer has caused to happen as I raised in my first question above??
THANKS!!
