Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Ok so quick question and I apologize if it has been asked before and I missed it. I'm thinking about updating from CtMod 2.3 up to 3.0. I'm gonna do a Titanium backup and stuff. Now what I'm wondering is, 3.0 removed the /data to SD part. Do I just reflash the 1.2 kernel? Or is there any way I can still update to 3.0 and keep the /data to SD without having to change anything? Not to sure about any of this so that's why I'm asking. Will I ave to repartition the SD and lose everything? Again, I apologize the maybe stupid question. Thanks in advance.

My CyanogenMOD is compiled with armeabi-v6l VFP support


If you were to bench both CyanogenMod and CT 3.0 with Antutu you will see that CyanogenMOD scores a lot higher on CPU float point for the reasons mentioned above

Now the big question is, can a ROM be modded to add armeabi-v6l VFP support to it, maybe it is in the libraries or files in the bin folder or in the framework somewhere.

I have looked into this a little and can not find anyone who has done it, so I have no idea if it can be done or not

Thanks, Blood and Hroark. I updated my post to a show the 2.4 benchmark.

I will try my backup of 2.5 and the rest with Antutu when I get back from the Dentist.

Evidently ..... you are not familiar with the way this works , Pirate . 9 times outta 10 , there are gonna be bugs when a version is released . That's the reason Bloodawn asked us to let him know if we ran across any issues with this ROM . If you are having issues and do not want to be a part of the group that helps him fix these problems , I recommend that you go back to a stable version that has been fully tested and wait until the bugs are worked out . Please keep this in mind the next time you want to install a version that has been out less that 24 hours . :D

looks like haptic feedback works, but only for long presses.

You can try making a backup in CWM then install 3.0 and koumakernel 1.2. I'm not sure how well its going to work tho since there will be old files on your sd partition.

Old files on the part acting as internal memory or old files on the normal SD partition? I'm just not sure what I should actually do as far as that goes. Maybe just move up to 2.5 or stay where I'm at now? What would you're suggestion be? Thanks again.

I'd just use 2.5 for now. going to call 3.0 a beta until i can fix some stuff, theres a problem receiving calls atm with it.

Gotchya, will do. Thanks again. Oh one last question while I'm at it. If I add any of the tweaking scripts, will they interfere with any of the ones you already included in the ROM? Shit and forgot to ask: so I do a factory and davlik wipe, then just flash 2.5 then restore my titanium back up? Never updated after I got the rom on there so I'm not to keen on the process.

Yep , I'm getting the the error " The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly " . I've tried multiple times and every time the call goes through to my Prevail , it turns the signal off .

BTW , thx again for your work Blood & Hroark . Our phones would not be the phone it is w/o you guys . I pity the person still running a stock Prevail . :D

NOTE: 3g is working fine .
 
Sorry to jump the gun before fully testing the ROM and incurring the wraith of some Somali Pirate.

I updated my earlier post with Quadrant benchmarks for 2.4 and 2.5.

3.0 blows them away.

CM7 with newest sdext kernel still rules.

Not sure what sdext or A2SD would do for CTMOD 3.0 though.
 
To those who were having issues, remember this is a beta build (it says so in the thread title) and you're more than likely to get a better response to your issues if you let others know in a polite, respectful manner.

To everyone else, rather than fan the flames, you're encouraged to use the report button if someone posts something that contradicts our Site Rules & Guidelines. Attack issues, not each other.

You should be able to just update to 2.5 and flash the kernel and your settings and apps will stay make a backup first tho

Some scripts may conflict with the ones included

I got the receiving call problem fixed. Ill update the rom later today
 
I too got the "Process android phone" force closes. I can make calls but I cant receive them.... Maybe thats not all that bad of a problem if you think about it LMAO!!!! So I guess its time to go back to the kick @$$ 2.5 for now :)

My personal opinion is the keybord is to small, it seems smaller than the other one and given the size of this phone to begin with compounded with my cave man sized fingers its a PITA.

No Im not saying I put the widget into the dock the widget was on the home screen I put the shortcut for the version of 2.0.7. This version does not have a widget. And it would not toggle off and it would mess up my wifi where it would not turn back on. I had to go into my menu then to settings and wifi and turn it on that way and in the little window with the check mark it would say error.
 
Um no offence to anyone but I think im not going to update till the call thing is fixed. My wife is 6 months pregnant and I have a lawyer for other things calling me I need to get incoming calls lol. But once its working I would be happy to update to it. I like CTMod. Um one question though. My wife has an LG Thrive would CTMod work on her phone?
 
Bloodawn, I have been using your mods since 2.3 and am a huge fan of yours. Never had an issue with anything.

With 3.0, however, I have a small issue: Emailfix is not putting the email widget/app (noob. Not sure which one it is) in my apps folder. Do I need to wait for a new Emailfix?

can any of you guys that flashed 3.0 tell me if bluetooth works alright? besides the receiving call part =p. I don't have a BT device to test it.

and do you guys like the ICS keyboard in 3.0 more then the keyboard in previous versions? I know 76ford90lx said he didn't like it as much

I did a call on bluetooth this morning and it went without a hitch.

My car bluetooth does not have streaming, so I cannot test the streaming part of it.

Bluetooth pairs just fine .

The keyboard is OK . To be honest , I use either Swype or Thumb Keyboard so it's really not a biggie .

Sorry for the confusion, I was in a hurry this morning.

I recommend downloading the newest update from this site:

3.1 beta 11 is the one I use and also the newest. The widget works on that one. Everything works on that one. Not really sure of any problems with wifi tether these days.
