Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Hey bloodawn im more known at the samsung transform ultra section of the forums i have a couple works like these 3

Blood I have a question to somethings on the notification bar theres the Wifi, 3G Data, GPS Location, Bluetooth, Sound, Vibrate, Airplane mode, the second to last Im not to sure on and then the pivot screen toggle. Whats the second to last one? Just curious.

I have a question about one other thing. I am going to be doing alot of traveling and I have the wifi tether on my phone. But is there a widget for it go be able to just toggle it from the home screen instead of opening the program?

could be wrong but i dont think so..think your gonna have to open the app and just enable the tether
 
Au blood let my phone be a test monkey to that popular rom you mentioned, I've seen all my options rom wise and only you offer legit looking roms like they don't look like video game status , CT cm and hbs are prolly the best roms for our:) prevails

I just wanted to let you know the "Call" button on the emergency dealer is still the old button and not the new one with the phone. (In CTMod 2.5)

Also,
When downloading a file, the text in notifications is black and illegible against the black background.
Could this be made white?

yes wifi tether has a widget, just long press your home screen go to widgets find wifi tether and then just press it when you ready to tether press again when done.

thanks, haven't used emergency dialer so i didn't notice that.

what browser are you using to download a file?

I use ADW EX LAUNCHER which features a horizontally scrolling dock bar. Mine scrolls 15 apps, 5 per page.

So instead of using a Widget, I have the wifi tether icon included in the second set of five on the dock.

You can always hit the home key while Tether is running or check the notifications screen.

Long Press Home or reselect dock icon to return.

BTW, I tried out the widget and it seems to work ok to me.

Yea I had the tether icon in the scroll dock for CTMod i thought it would be nice to have a wifi tether widget but when i tryed to turn off the widget it would freeze and also make it so my wifi would not reconnect to my router, i dont know whats up with it though but the wifi tether works.

Upgraded version of Android from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6 (thanks to hraork)
Added ICS keyboard
Upgraded kernel to unofficial KoumaKernel 1.3 for now (I removed the /data to SD part of it)


Do not use the current removed apps zip with this version and don't use the WP7 Theme until i update it.

I removed the /data to sd part of the kernel since some people have trouble with it, If you want the kernel with that feature you can get it in kouma's thread.

I'll update the screenshots and more of the first post tomorrow.

Gonna pass out now, let me know if you guys have any problems.

you are also using a different EGL config, which should improve graphic performance

Can I use your email fix zip with this?

I'm too tired to play "phone" so I will play in the morning :)
 
Updated to 3.0. Since updating there is not a haptic feedback for the buttons and the ringtone volume seems super low. I'm have both checked both options, and the volume is on high and haptic is turned on.

I did not try the Widget FROM the Dock. I left the widget on the page. It seems to Toggle Off fine from there.

I have the app icon on the dock which works fine for Me. I try to minimize the use of widgets. Personal Superstition. Lol.

I have had no serious problems with the Data2SD kernels, but I understand your concern.

I am guessing that we can use good old A2SD, Inigo version for sd-ext support.

Or Flash a Kouma Dta2SD kernel as previously stated.

Personally, I use CTMOD as a backup to Hroarks CM7 and recently I keep a CWM backup of CTMOD fully configured and ready to restore without any sd-ext or SD support at all.

Also, I try to run as many important apps as possible as system.

In this case it also makes sense to have a Kouma Odin Pack backup on your PC.

This way you still have an almost fully functioning smartphone if your SD card dies.

CTMOD is still the most stable ROM for the Prevail and I like the security of being able to flash it if I need my phone running if I have SD problems.
 
3.0 runs great.

Only installed Gmail and Quadrant for now.

I did not realize that Quadrant had recently updated. I wondered where all those colored bars came from. Lol

Apparently, the scoring is different now.

No Screen Shot app yet, but Quadrant gave a score of 1018.

Just ran it on my fully loaded sd-ext kernel CM7, 1429 as below:

None of these CTMODs used sd-ext support.

3.0 is based on my Admire 2 Prevail ROM

Even though it is Android 2.3.6

Samsung did not compile it with armeabi-v6l VFP support

So this ROM will bench closer to CTMOD 2.5

My CyanogenMOD is compiled with armeabi-v6l VFP support


If you were to bench both CyanogenMod and CT 3.0 with Antutu you will see that CyanogenMOD scores a lot higher on CPU float point for the reasons mentioned above

Now the big question is, can a ROM be modded to add armeabi-v6l VFP support to it, maybe it is in the libraries or files in the bin folder or in the framework somewhere.

I have looked into this a little and can not find anyone who has done it, so I have no idea if it can be done or not
