Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Hey everyone. My dad and I have the same phones. He got an update for FA19 Bug Fix. I did not. But when I went to update his phone it seemed to have bricked it. It would not get past the Boost Mobile logo. So I put CWM on his phone and installed CTMod on his phone. NOW however he is still getting the Bug Fix and I do not want his phone to screw up again. Anyone have any ideas?

dono if is just my phone, but, I was trying to up-date one of my contact phone # yesterday and I got this error: "Sorry! The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." and the "force close" botton.
Then, after click the force close the phone goes out of service for like less than a sec and retun to normal.

Edit: forgot to mention, I'm on CTMod 3.1.2 (original kernel), FA19, CWM 5.0.2.7

I noticed this today also. 3.1.2, kk1.3

Also as far as trying to update Quickpic from market, I just went to the developer's website and downloaded the apk. Uninstalled the one I had. Tried to install the new one and it didn't work. But I rebooted and it worked fine. Moved it to the /system folder and all is well
 
only if you are successful at doing the OTA update.
my reccomendation...download the image that Kouma posted on the first page of the odin thread.

The new ApkInstaller.zip is not working for me. The new RemovedApps.zip apps are all modified on 2-18-2012 around 10pm, is that right?

Is this the way you "should" install CTMod? I've never installed it before and want to give it a shot. I want to have the updated kernel, baseband version, etc!
 
Hey Guys,

I installed the last version of CTMod yesterday!:D working great! Thanks Blooddawn for all the Hardwork.....I did have one question and sorry if its already covered. can i download one of the App 2 SD "apps'" from from the Market and install it on here so i can force some of my apps to my SD card with out messing anything up. Its working great so i dont want to ruin it :rolleyes:

the installation instructions are in the first post

before you install CTMod you need to install clockworkmod and either baseband EJ06 or FA19, you can get them from the odin thread if you don't have them already.

Hey Bloodawn just wanted to give you a general thank you for all the hard work you put into making our phones useable. I do have a question regarding future of your work. How long do you forsee yourself providing support for the prevail and as a follow up..Are their any phones on the horizon you see as a potential replacement for those of us how must deal with pre paid androids. Thanks again for your effort...this forum is lucky to have ya.

I'll probably continue to work with the prevail as long as i own it, I don't see myself getting a new phone anytime soon. If I did get one right now it would be the Marquee but it seems like every few months lately boost is releasing something new and they keep getting better so it probably won't be long before something else comes out.

That is pretty much why I am holding out on getting a Marquee, the prevail has awesome devs and awesome roms already out. Maybe Boost will get a new big screen Samsung of some kind that isn't that hard to mod and can run odin. I love my little prevail but I am getting antsy wanting a bigger screen.
 
Ok I'm running CTMod 3.1.2 with KK1.2 and found 2 interesting things today, when i try to run the mobile ap the phone starts to enable it then power cycles, even using Foxfi/pdanet to do the wireless ap it power cycles the phone, the second thing i've noticed is when i'm in a call and push the power button to unlock the screen it blacks the screen out, pushing it a second time brings the screen back and unlocked.

On a side note is there a way to map a key to a function during a call, like mapping the camera key to do speaker??? I find it hard to get the speaker button to work when i try and press it.
 
Has anyone been able to remove "Mobile AP"? I've tried to find it even with titainum back up but its no where to be found:confused:, even though its on my app dock. Just want to remove it because its useless to me:o

those are known bugs, I'm working on getting them fixed.

theres no way that I know of to remap the camera button to anything like that
