Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

lol... :D

My highest was a 189, but that was in candlepin. A good average there is 120-130.

Yeah I went candlepin bowling last summer and I was surprised how difficult it was. I think I shot a 140 or something, but that was all luck.

I used to teach youth bowling years ago. My league average at the time was 174 and my highest game ever (thankfully, at the State Tournament :D ) was 265. I still have my poor old shoes and bowling balls. I enjoy bowling still on occasion with friends but it takes me a few games to warm up. My arm strength isn't what it used to be, as I'm usually pretty sure after bowling... I'm not used to swinging a 15-lb. weight!

Good news - I GOT A JOB!! Even better, it was my first choice!!! :D:D:D It's at a local medical office who currently doesn't have an IT department, so I will be it! It's my current salary and 3 weeks vacation. I'm so happy!! They are also letting me have a week off to decompress after the merger.

I can now finally buy the stuff I've been putting off! This is a HUGE load off my mind!

Jeez, do we need to start a bowling lounge?! I actually do really like bowling. The lady, not so much. Most of the bowling spots in DC are way too "posh" for me. I like them like hole in the walls. (the one we're going to is a nice medium between the two)

Wow so many bowlers in here -- that's pretty awesome. I'm joining a league with the girlfriends dad and brother on Tuesday nights. Pretty excited to get in a league again.

Congratz!! There is nothing better than getting that confirmation for the number one job that you wanted!! The Air Force isn't exactly that way ;)

Good Morning Gnexers!

(a) Congratulations Lucky! Its always a great relief to know you have a payday coming!

(b) My heart goes out to the storm victims in the Midwest. We just got a little rain... thankfully. Now I have to call my mower and start the cutting season early!

(c) My heart also goes out to Andrew Breitbart's family. Dead at 43, he left behind a wife and 4 kids. We have lost a great journalist. :(

(d) Back to our regular bean-dippin' :)

Thanks everyone! This is a HUGE load off our minds. I'm fortunate to have had multiple offers and was able to pick the one that was the best for myself and Spousal Unit. I was worried about having gaps in my resume and/or being forced to take a job out of necessity/survival I wasn't really happy with. It's close to home, and it's a place I'm very famliar with. So knowing most of the people there as well as being famliar with their systems will mean I'll slide right in and get up to speed quickly.

I appreciate everyone's support and well-wishes. We are VERY happy!

Yuck, tornadoes. I have been through one storm which set down a tornado 3 miles after it passed us. And I thought that was bad. Otherwise it's been hurricanes for me. I will take a hurricane any day... You at least have a warning.
