Can we have embolded titles for sticky threads?

I don't really want to because bold is what people view as threads with unread replies.
 
Bold and another colour? Or anything else that makes them stick out more than they do now?
 
Perhaps a special font for stickies. Not true bold, but something along the lines of impact .. arial black .. ??

That is interesting.. saw it first in GC. I'm hoping it does not "separate" it even more from forum activity.

I always thought that important threads/thread titles should look entirely different than all the rest, but few forums do such a thing.

Well, that sounds a bit like a "requirement" or less than welcoming/friendly attitude.

I think that we're trying to find ways to have it happen, not to make them do it. We want their eyes to visually lead them to the stickies, rather than imparting to them any feeling of being "wrong" if they don't. :)

Hey phases, long time no speak.
I like this move, it makes thhe stickies more obvious as there is a clear device and it makes you notice them.
 
I like it. It's a good way to separate things, while keeping the overall theme the same... but I'm almost thinking it's too much. Almost too big of a divide between the threads. Maybe it's just me, but it get the impression that the stickies are somehow less part of the forum.... It's kinda hard to explain...

What if it was a couple of horizontal rules ..? Just thinking out loud, not sure how that would actually look. Or, if it was just the light blue part at the top?

All in all, I like it though ;D
 
I dont know how to feel about it .For locked threads it looks perfect but for stickied but unlocked ,I feel ,it separates the forum .
 
i prefer functionality over looks though, it makes the stickies obvious which imo is important as the stickies are there for a reason.
it doesnt look bad, maybe a little too thick but i certainly think the divider is a good move
 
Sticky threads are stuck at the top because the community and/or Staff feels that they are the most important threads to be read in that forum. :)

I've noticed that the higher percentage of open sticky participants are a core group, while the queries in the forum at large are very very often covered in the stickies but not seen by the questioning member.

Placing a barrier to further separate the stickies from the forum at large seems to reinforce the core group who already use the things, while the problem remains.

As SURoot keeps pointing out (and the reason for this thread ;)), we need visibility, high visibility for those stickies. The new bar is cute, lends a sort of classy look to the forum page, but no increased visibility of the individual stickies is apparent.

I still think that a special sticky-only font, eye catching by it's size and overall difference from other forum thread titles, would accomplish what we're after: the visibility.

None of that ^ is in bold, it's just the Arial Black font.
 
I think for some it will make it stand out. Maybe not for others and something more may be needed but my vote is bar should stay
