Root Device ID Change??B-)

Hey I have a question, I am running 2.3.5, FA19,187MHB4 and 2.6.35.14, but I can not seem to be able to find My Device ID to use multiple apps that are identical at the same time...?? Why??? I need to run two phone numbers at the same time and cannot without a different:confused:ID.
I can only imagine the implications of changing this value.

Not sure you can have two phone numbers for the same phone, can you?

Can you elaborate a little more on what you're trying to accomplish?

Thanks!

Yup I can, First of all you can have two numbers, first way is to download line2 and use there free service, there is a problem with that... if you dl it and sign up they check something called a Device ID, tryed to run it twice but its stuck on my old free number... and device ID. second if I can change this value I can change my plan cuz my device is now not Device (0001) but Device (0002).

This sounds like something you should take up with "line2"s tech support
they would know what they use for a unique identifier for your phone, likely the serial number.
The best solution would be to get line2 to remove the info from your old account.

A good app programmer would assign you a unique identifier (UID) that would be generated when you sign up/install and stored in a location that would be overwritten when the device was factory reset. That way a device could be sold and not permanently attached to the old owner's account, or changed in the event of creating a new account.

Anything that uniquely identifies your phone that is not in the range that can be erased with a factory reset probably resides in the land of info that would involve cloning a phone, which I believe would be a no-no on this site

Just tossing in a thought. Perhaps Line2 is reading which market (now play) account you are using. If you added an another account and switch to that account in market (now play) and then download Line2, perhaps it will then work as you need.

Just an idea as I don't use Line2.

I believe this is how Google Voice attaches to your account (which is what I use), so maybe Line2 does the same.
