I'd like to talk a little bit about what type of advertising we will realistically see for the Incredible. Personally, I think there will be next to none. There has been a lot of discussion about an ad campaign during the NCAA tournament, etc... but I would be VERY surprised to see any Incredible-specific ads on TV. Perhaps it will get a nod in a VZW or HTC (less likely) ad, but nothing beyond that.

I think the bar has been set pretty high by the Droid campaign, but the Droid was unique in a lot of ways that the Incredible just isn't. As much as we're all in denial about it, I'm sure that 99% of Verizon subscribers couldn't care less about this phone. The more that leaks about this phone, the more it seems like little more than an upper-mid range smart phone, not the Superphone we all hoped it will be.

Of course, I'll reserve final judgment until it actually comes out, but between the rumored RAM, unprofessional looking appearance, and now possible un-svelte profile, I'm just not feeling it like I was.

I think there will be some advertising, but nothing as big as with the moto droid. They will come up with something good though I'm sure.

As for the phone I think we need to relax and settle down a bit (I know everyone is excited) until the official announcment of the device. When the official specifications, colors, sizes, weights, designs, whatever of the phone are released then we'll have a better idea. THEN, after it is released and we get our hands on it, then we will be able to make a quality conclusion on the handset.

I'm guilty of this because I wanna knock it down because of a silly back plate. The official phone isn't even announced yet. We all have such high expectations and hopes (fantasies for some? lol) about this phone and need to stay open minded, even if it's not 100% what we wanted/hoped.

Anything is possible and we could be surprised yet.

Did anyone notice the DevDroid blog stating the Incredible was rocking an 850Mhz processor? What happened to the Snappy Snap?

@drhill RAM amount 256 (it was a very fast phone),
FM I don't know will try to remember to ask,
second MIC for voice canceling I want to say yes, but I am not 100%,
HD video recording again I don't know for sure but I would Bet on yes, 5 Mp camera with dual flash, should do HD recording.

I know nothing about price, and doubt I ever will prior to release. I only know release rumors I think March 23rd has always been the target, but I did hear rumors of may. I am sticking with the 23rd for now :)

tluv00 it is still a snapdragon, this early development model is under clocked to 850, I don't know why, it still ran just as smooth with sense UI as the Nexus I played with earlier in the night.

You can't really tell in the pics, but there is no trackball, just a tiny little black dot, it works just as well if not better than my experiences with the trackball.

any chance the backplate comes in different colors or they will make accessory plates for it? Did it feel weight wise like the N1?

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. I would probably go with the Incredible just from the standpoint of getting to play with the phone b4 purchasing. I don't know anyone with the N1 and right now the Droid is falling into third (I love physical keyboards) but who knows. I have had my NE2 since September and I still cannot make up my facking mind.

When was the last time you had a chance to play with it?

All of the pics are from last night.

I used a N1 and the Incredible last night, and honestly couldn't tell a difference in operation. Sense UI had no noticeable impact.

They backplate comes off similar to the G1, I popped it off using a fingernail from the bottom where there was a tiny slit.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't swap backplates, if you found one in another color.

I got to head out, follow me on twitter @devdroidian if you aren't already I try to answer everyone.

Back to the ram... How much does the Eris have? Phone Arena has it listed as 288... So is it possible this could only have 256? I mean like there has to be a 1% chance of that.. I know the test one the site played with was that, but they said it was an early test model. So I mean come one, it has to have more than 256.. right?? Please? right?!

Thanks man, did it have any Verizon branding on it? Do you think this could be a tester model?

If this thing really only has 256MB of RAM, a lot of people are going to be eating their words. "Don't be stupid....there's no way HTC would put that much into a phone and have less memory than the Eris!" We'll see, won't we?

Please don't flame me, but we've seen pictures taken by nimigo which very strongly suggest a camera > 5MP.....Until someone mentions this fact, I'm taking anything they say skeptically.

Which phone did you prefer? I am between an N1 and incredible right now. My PERSONAL opinion is the red back plate is really ugly. And the memory sounds to be behind the N1. I like the N1 UI so unless i play with the sense and it blows me away i think i am going to go N1, especially if it is eventually sold in stores...just my opinion though

I believe this is still an early engineering sample that HTC gave to VZW to check out. I think the models that HTC quality assurance personnel are handling have improved specs and ample RAM. DevDroid is also mentioning only a 5MP cam when we know based on flickr pics that it's more like 6MP or even rated higher since Bravo/Desire's pics are really around 4MP but they rate it at 5MP.

In other words, don't fret over the 256MB. I'm confident that's not the final spec.
