Root [Guide] Optimus V ROMS do flash with touchscreen working!!

Ok I tried porting it without that guide and it wouldnt flash at all
I tried replacing only the files it said to and now it flashed :D
Lets see if it boots and if wifi works :D:D:D

EDIT: Booted successfully :D
Wifi still errors out :(
Signal still does not work :(

Yeah, I did what the guide said and ended up in a boot loop.

I didn't botloop and I'm doing this with the ROM I posted in the OP, I'm still trying to replace files to get wifi working..........tell me if you get wifi working, that's the most important thing right now

Right now I'm uploading a website for my step-dad, he's gonna pay my phone bill :D

Also you can skip the part that says to do whatever to your boot.img, we dont have to do anything to that...all we had to do was replace it.

Did you actually delete the actual folders and replace them with the ones from our ROM? Or did you just overwrite the existing ones?

And tomorrow when I can get to my computer I think I'll dissect the ICS ROM and see why it won't boot. I'm thinking it has something to do with the boot.img, but we'll see I guess. And yeah, Wi-Fi is most important. Especially since that's the only way I can access internet on this phone. xD

The wifi modules are unique to our phone. Its the main reason wifi is always one of the first problems in all our custom roms. The devs fix this by compiling the wifi modules seperate from the kernel I believe. Have you tried flashing reppards kernel when doing this. Also hey dood, nice to see you still lurking

Reppard's kernel is the one I use. :) Also, what folder/s in the ROM is the Wi-Fi files located?

Aren't there other files for Wi-Fi located in /system/ect/wifi, /system/etc/ppp, and /system/etc/vold.fstab?

yes, I havent got a problem getting it to boot.
you should try winzip, maybe 7zip does something different when ur editing the zip file

I have winzip installed too, so I'll try that later. Also, what ROM are you trying to port?

Yoooooo i got wifi working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Omg!!!!
I'll put it on mediafire so u can download omgomgogmogmmogmogm!!!!

Edit:
That was all in caps^^lol

ugh, it lags when its connected to internet, we may need to flash the kernel, not that hard...could use the r.o.c.k oc kernel or the 2.2.2 kernel

Google Play installed :)

Hold on, about to flash. It's gonna take a while for me to get tapatalk installed and everything.

Whoahwhoahwhoahwhoahwhoah. Whoah. How did you do it?! Tell me! O:

I changed:

(These entire folders if I dont say a specific file)

system/etc/wifi
system/etc/vold.fstab
system/etc/apns-conf.xml (its probably for APN's and I only changed it for when we get the radio working too)
system/etc/ppp
system/lib/hw
system/lib/modules
build.prop

after u flash the ROM dont forget to flash gapps!

The ones from the OP....I flashed the wrong ones, oh well.
