Root [CWM][ROOT][RZR] Root & Recovery AIO - UPDATED 2-19-2012

I am using an LG Esteem. I rooted my LG Esteem, installed the Gingersteem rom but i could not retrieve all of my contacts from my phone(I was only able to retrieve my contacts from google though) so I went to reboot recovery, unroot and recovery. I have deleted data and Now, when I reboot it stops at CWM Recovery and It does not show the phone sd or internal has any files to recovery factory reset or hard reset or anything of that nature. I have some files backed up on my pc, and some say ".apk" but with no adequate size to recover to the phone. Is this phone "bricked"? How can I get back to factory settings without Gingersteem Rom? and then to reinstall Gingersteem with all the apps and contacts that I need? Please help at your earliest convenience.

Stuck in recovery? Use http://dl.dropbox.com/u/64026439/exitrecovery.zip

Should be able to go into recovery and restore your backup(if you made one).

I extracted the exitrecovery zip, I see in the exitrecovery>tmp>exitrecovery.sh
What should I use to run the file? Or which files do I run?

Um just to be sure, im on VZB rooted. Do i have to upgrade to VZC to use the VZC root and rom? Also is it safe to use VZB themes?
root yes, rom I recommend being on zvc first, themes, I havent see anything that should cause an issue. Then again, there are issues now that 'shouldnt' be but are lol.

ok, im on zvc with new phone.. adb is on, i reinstalled drivers, its on internet connection, wont root :( keeps saying no such file or directory.. am i forgetting something? lol adrenaline is pumping right now so cant think straight lol

Still having problems rooting this phone. I've tried every day, every way. I'm a bit intimidated with downgrading, so I'd rather not if I don't absolutely have to. There's also no guarantee that I can root using my mac on ZVB either. I'll try on a friend's pc tomorrow. From what I've seen, that should work no problem.

prolly best bet, but I will check the .sh now. ;)

and if you feel up to it, copy the follow n select all, n paste into the AIO.sh file and save n see if it runs then.

can always push via adb ;)

You're such a doll... I got everything up and running anyway. It involved begging a co-worker for her USB Flash drive that had a microSD reader :p

I should have realized I could have uses adb commands to do it, that but at the time (duh), I was on my work computer and (of course) don't have administrator rights to install anything :/ (also, it's literally been YEARS since I've rooted. I forgot how to use different commands and such).

Gosh, I feel so behind the times :(

good to hear ;)

and ty, I usually get called a ahole lmao

After updating to ZVD, I found myself in trouble quickly. (yep... it's a long story)
After reading thread after thread, I re-discovered this one, and out of frustration and desperation, I came to the conclusion that I had nothing left to loose at that point.

I don't know if it's been posted here or somewhere else already (and if it has I'm sure some of you will laugh at my n00bness)... but for the sake of my fellow n00bs out there that may be stuck in the same boat that I was - I used this root/CWM install method on the stock ZVD and it worked flawlessly. (well, for mine anyway... another Esteem's mileage may vary)

I'm rooted once again, BUT I also have a recovery to rescue me - just in case. NOW I'm happy. ;) Let the flashing begin once again! lol
Thank you SO much PG! (again, and again... and no doubt many times in the future)

Man this forum rocks. lol
