My bad, I got excited and didn't read the whole post.It definitely looks too thick to be the incredible we've seen before. It also looks like the screen is too small.

That makes me feel a little better, BUT are we sure that phone laying there isn't the Incredible? I mean it looks too thick. Maybe they color code them according to company -- red and black being Verizon phones.
You mean they don't hire them already that way? They're normal at first, then they have to dumb them down?
haha, good one! Actually, their staff are very nice to me. They are just kept ignorant of the information we crave.![]()
Add this to the "believe it or not".
Was in local store in NW Indiana talking to my "guy" about switching over all our Blackberrys to Android type phones. In the conversation I asked him about the N1 and if it would be sold in stores. He paused as if he had to make a decision and said..."well I will tell you we have received an email about training and it appears in my opinion it will be sold in stores". He went on to say that if it wasn't, they would have never been told about the N1. He did also say, end of March and "winked".
Now by my post count you may think I am BS'ing you, however I plan on being a hardcore member here and have no reason to BS you. If you look over at crackberry, I am pretty "distinguished" and hope to become that here.
I know I know its all BS until we have official announcement but felt like I had to say this as someone else above has mentioned as well.
Thank you for the encouragement. I look at information I get from CSR's with a deeply jaundice eye. The salesman at my corporate VZW store told me that his boss told him that th iPhone was going to be announced for VZW by Steve Jobs at the same meeting he announced the iPad. FAIL.
Don't get me wrong. I do hope you are right! Welcome to AndroidForums!! (Wait a minute, I'm new too and have to right to extend you that courtesy...eh.. never mind. Welcome anyway!![]()
)
Steve, I just saw your post after creating mine! It's a coincidence about the iPhone/Verizon info. See my point?![]()
Something just occurred to me that MIGHT explain the positioning of the Incredible as other than a flagship device. Now...I'm not saying it won't be a flagship device...I'm just throwing another idea into the mix. Everyone is going on the assumption that we are waiting for the next great thing from Verizon. We are also just sure that Verizon will want to compete with the Desire on AT&T and the N1. The argument has been...."why would they release a less powerful phone?". This argument has been used many times with regard to RAM. BUT....WHAT IF....
The Incredible were actually more of a mid level replacement for the Eris? What if they are just upping their game....and that the true flagship device will be the iPhone?
Paradigm paralysis will keep you in a fixed state of mind. But what says the next flagship is Android? Dial the clock back to this last year. So many people were dying to have the iPhone be on Verizon. So...AT&Ts exclusive with the iPhone is rumored to be ending....and there have been rumors of an iPhone for Verizon. AT&T smartly grabs the gorgeous Desire...that we all want...because they need a replacement for their exclusive contract with Apple. Meanwhile, whose to say Verizon didn't listen to the clamoring from last year demanding the iPhone? If so, it would explain their positioning.
Okay, this is ALL just conspiracy theory. I admit even this is a long shot. Ultimately though, we could be surprised by the eventual specs and positioning of the Incredible...because you never know what's really happening behind the scenes.
One last opinion...6 months ago I would have taken the iPhone on Verizon so fast it would make your head spin. Today...what I really want is the Desire. I would take it over the iPhone in a heartbeat. That's an example of how things have shifted in Androids and HTCs favor. What if Verizon didn't get the memo?

I can tell you, without question, that if Verizon offered an iPhone I'd be all over it. I already have an iPod Touch and the only thing I'm missing is a phone and a camera. Otherwise, I love it to death.
While I've wanted to Incredible and it's Touch UI for awhile now, it's only because I knew I was unlikely to get an iPhone on Verizon anytime soon.
An iPhone on Verizon would outsell every Android device out there.
No worries, ANY additional info is welcomed and just gives us more reason to believe

I was thinking something similar but more along the lines of this:
The incredible is a mid level replacement for the Eris.
The Nexus One gets released in store as a new top tier device.

and in the vein of speculation, if this is the case, the bold coloration may signify that it is targeted for a different audience, and not the techno-snobs like me that are concerned with specs and a clean-looking device.
There's this pretty saleslady selling phones at VZW, who recently bought an Eris. Why, did she do that, I thought? The specs are so light! Well, she doesn't NEED all those specs we geeks crave and she is perfectly happy with her phone.
steve jobs is such a tyranical ***** I can't imagine why anyone would want a phone that they are constantly told how they can use it and what they can do with it. but thats just my opinion.
Speaking of specs, it looks as if one of our recent favorite contributors (devdroidian) is getting his hands on a free N1 as a developer.

Alas, I'll sacrifice Sense (but I will get Android updates faster) and the optical trackpad for a powerful phone I can get in the next few weeks. My Nexus One clock is counting down!
