How do you set your brightness settings on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus?

I have mine on the lowest possible for the battery life, its not even dim though. Super Amoled HD really does the justice
 
Does anyone else find that the unlock screen lags with auto brightness on?

I just have mine set to 20% the whole time... but if auto brightness worked properly...
 
100% all the way. The only time I lower the brightness is if I'm in a dark, busy environment (restaurant, bar, movie theatre, etc.) and don't want to draw attention to myself.

That screen is too beautiful to turn down. :D
 
Why does the poll go from lowest to middle with no in between, but then has 75% for between middle and 100%? LOL. I would pick 30% if it was a choice. :-)

I have vertical banding lines show up below 30%.

I leave mine on auto.

I've found that I've grown less interested in micro-managing my phone, these days, so I just let it be and enjoy it. I've wrestled with battery life enough (and won).:p
 
I'm running aokp. I have my color multipliers tuning settings all at .34. (The stock setting is too high on most roms and could cause burn-in.) Because the screen isn't as bright, "auto" works fine for me, which is where I leave it.
 
Mine is at ~33% at home and Auto at work. We keep out house darker than the GNex likes so when at home it will set the brightness to about -10%. I say "-10%" because if I manually set it to the minimum, it's actually brighter than what Auto gives me.

That maybe the case when your using the power control widget, but I've found it can be set even darker in the settings menu where you slide the brightness.
