Do you think Google will only give discounted price on individual plans and NOT family plans like they are doing with TMobile Now?
I have heard that it will be that way for the N1 on Verizon, but then TMobile will start the family plan discount.

On the same note, I wonder about the Incredible. I would think it'll be discounted on family plans since it's provided through them. And, do you think they'll start a BOGO deal?

NKT, Were you able to make calls with the phone, meaning I guess, was it fully functional?

I was curious about the call sound quality. The trend lately for the smartphones is that they do not work so well as PHONES.

Thanks for all of the posts to the multitude of questions.

I'll ask my question again, if anyone knows the answer, please let me know:

Doesn't voice recognition come as part of the 2.1 OS?

can someone please explain to me why they would gimp the Snapdragon and underclock it to 768MHz??

Over time i had talked myself into the idea that if this phone came out with 256 RAM I would jump ship for the N1, but if was released with the same specs as the N1 + Sense UI I would stick with the incredible. This kinda throws me a bit of a curve ball.

I agree which is why I said I don't think Verizon would mess it with ;)

Agreed. The N1 though, out of the box is different. It's got google voice active using any app that you can input text (email, sms, IM). Other android devices don't. I don't know if this is a google exclusive feature or if the Incredible will have it too. NEVERMIND! I just saw woodraskam's link with the answer, yes! Thanks.

As for the 720p capable question, I should have been more clear. I would like to know if it's possible to record HD with a future upgrade, I have heard that the Desire isn't HD recording out of the box but it will be with a future software upgrade. I would assume the Incredible would too?

Better battery life and perhaps less heat. Though my bet is on its only underclocked for testing.

I believe i saw somewhere that the speech to text is not included in sense 2.1, but i hope it is still available for the navigation portion since that has been included since 2.0

According to the specs of the QSD8650, the snapdragon chip is capable of recording 720p video. I'm guessing it's in the same boat as the Desire, and would need a software upgrade.

yeah, that was the essence of my question. I need voice recognition. Need it, I do.

I believe this is the case with the leaked Sense UI ROM that people have ported over to the Eris, but I'm not sure that we can make a determination on this until an official Sense / Android 2.0 phone comes out.

My general thought is that HTC is not looking to limit functionality with Sense and that they'd do all they could to leave it in as it is a major draw for the updated OS. They wouldn't want to give the Droid a 1 up for having it while they don't offer it due to Sense.
