The Incredible is miniUSB, not micro.
Regarding Google and the N1... it's been said over and over, but I think people have trouble understanding their business model. Google did not make the N1 to become a player in the hardware game. They made it to ensure there was an example of what Google's vision of an Android experience phone would look like today. They'll be able to make quick updates and have some control over how/when they are distributed. Google doesn't want to compete with their customers (which are mainly service providers and other hardware producing companies). Google's main business model is to give their products away to end users like you and I. They mine data and make money on the back end. The amount of money made off of N1 sales is likely minuscule compared to their total company profits.
So... Google was not stupid or short sighted when deciding how to sell and market the N1. They are not trying to outsell other phone makers. It's even conceivable that they expected to make little to no overall profit on N1 sales directly. Comparing them to other phone markers is apples to oranges. They want everyone in the world to use Android so you'll use Google Search, Voice, Maps, etc and reap the benefits of having all the data, information and advertising associated with their use. That's their goal.

So does that mean it will charge fine with any microUSB charger?

No, different connectors.
I believe the docks for the Droid launched with the phone. This thread was only 3 days after.

Edit: Get the Car dock first if they both come out for the Incredible. Having the Droid with the car dock was awesome.

I'm not buying that, because if that's all they were interested in they wouldn't be investing the billions they recently publicly talked about in a new broadband infrastructure that will boast speeds of 100 mbps.
In fact my city (Ann Arbor, MI) is in the running to be the one of the first they are going to build the network in. Of course it doesn't hurt that Google's Ad Words office is located here either, which employs over 1,000 people. So they're more inclined to take care of their own first.
So for better or worse Google is extending their reach into the hardware and network infrastructure business and as I said earlier today, this all boils down to control.

Nope. There is a separate section in the SD & Phone Memory for giving the user that information. 3 sections total depending on what phone you have: SD card, Internal phone storage, and Phone memory. SD card is exactly that. Internal phone storage is like what you'd compare to the 4,8,16, or 32 Gigs in an iPhone. Phone memory is the actual memory it uses to run and cache programs for faster opening, multitasking, etc.

I'm pretty sure that they're both micro, from analyzing the pictures NKT provided it looks like incredible is Micro too.

MicroSD is the SD card. Micro USB is the charging/syncing port. Not the same but easily confused.

He's saying that it's MiniUSB for charging, not that it's MiniSD for storage, it's confirmed that it's MicroSD for storage, I had just assumed that it would also be MicroUSB for charging. All in all, this is a little confusing...
