Root Who's used Koush's ROM?

Are you guys sure that this works as an Update.zip with SPRecovery? I have been wanting to try it but have not wanted to flask Koush's recovery. But if Update.zip will work I will give it a try.
Thanks
Matt

Cyanogen was like a god to G1/MT3G users. He gave us the best cupcakes and donuts, his kernels had been modified so heavily that it felt like you had a whole new phone. His ROM's have never been flashy, they have always been well built and engineered to have little to no bugs AT ALL. I think that with the Droid being such a powerful phone any ROM will run well on it so we don't really notice all the improvements. With the G1 we had shall I say sub-par hardware so any speed/stability modifications were greatly appreciated and noticeable. Cyanogen really cares about us, the Android user community. He went to bat against the almighty Google and didn't just give up like many would have, and we still have his work here to this day. I know some of you don't realize how lucky we are to have his work being ported over to our Droid's, but believe me we are. And I give a million thanks to Koush, if you haven't already done so then please donate to him and if you can't afford it then just spread the good word about his work.

Yes I am feeling nostalgic haha.

Absolutely sure.

BTW, I just hit 1590ms in BenchmarkPi. What does Cyanogen know that NONE of the other Droid developer know?

You talked me into it. I am going for it. I am going to try it first with keeping my data, might a well, and if that does not work I will do a wipe and a fresh install.
Thanks for the information

But...THIS ROM IS FAST AS HELL!!

12.5Mflops @ 1GHz without JIT?! 303ms LONG benchmark in SetCPU?

More to come.

UMMM...WOW!! SOOOOO, is it the fastest ROM you've ever flashed?!?! Is the browser faster than other ROM's?!

Also, can you flash like Chevy's Kernel ontop of his? I like his 1.25Ghz.. ;)

Well, now that I know it will work with SBRecovery I will give it another chance (I was not crazy about the other recovery method). I just was not able to get this baby running smoothly and had my share of force closes (but I have to admit I was flashing and testing while I was pretending to work :o).

Ahh, looks like JIT was enabled in 5.0.4.1

5.0.4.2 Changelog
Disabled JIT. I am ******ed.

Still, impressive numbers. And, somehow he got benchmarkpi numbers to go down, while on other ROMs, JIT always makes them go up.

That explains all my reboots...

EDIT: hrm, but the line isn't in the build.prop...?

I'll see if there's any discrepancies between my 5.0.4.1 scores and 5.0.4.2 once it's done downloading.

OMG!
I just installed it and my long bench went from 3000 to 600, how is that possible. I am a Koush Convert, this ting is really nice.
By the way I kepy all my data and it seems to be working just fine so far

Yeah, mine's fallen off since I updated to 5.0.4.2

Went from 12.5 to 8.5

But, overall, the ROM still seems pretty snappy, especially considering I have all 7 screens full of widgets :D

I'm going to wait a while before updating. I don't like spending 45 minutes setting my home screens back up after I update. lol.

What is going on with our sig's? This is the second time I have noticed them not showing up.

They now only show up on your first post on each page of a thread. This has been the case for a good many weeks now. It's to reduce lag and help pages load faster. Phases said they have noticed less weight on the servers and faster load times by doing so.

My mflops dropped from 11.8 with my old ROM to 8.38 with Cyanogen. :(

Same here...in the 8 MFLOP range, low 200's in short bench, and in the 600's for long bench. I think the best long benchmark I had ever ran prior to this was around 2000! WTF? 7 screens loaded and I am cruising along...very snappy!:D

By a comfortable margin IMO. Add the NexTheme and it looks as good as it runs!

Hmmm... I like what I read... ;) Thank you!

Is there anyway we cannot have the apps on the bottom though? I just like the plain 3D drawer. I don't like that Iphone look.. Or is that a must?
