All very exciting news! I can't believe that we had less the 100 pages last Monday, but now are at 125.

I'm glad to see that the processor isn't under-clocked. Now we will have some great zippiness to the phone! I thought that this phone was going to be an exact HTC Desire with different looks, but right now, it is looking better! (Although I still believe that no device on this planet looks as good as the HTC Desire.)

Not yet anyways. ;)

Good now that I know the processor isnt under clocked. If it was running very fast on Sense I could only imagine what its gonna be like with it turned off. I hate sense so this is a big plus for me. Its unfortunate that I cant get the Nexus One on a family plan. Everything in the Incredible is better than the Nexus One but I just cant stand the look of the Incredible. Its Incredibly tacky. I know you wont see the red cause the battery cover is over it but was a it necessary. Do you honestly think that Apple would do something like this. I say Apple cause lets be honest they know design. I hate their software but I have to give credit to their products design and build quality.Even HTC with the Nexus One, why would they have some crazy exotic color on it. Yea the Incredible might be the Lamborghini of phones spec wise but it doesn't have the looks. Im just saying cause to me it shows that the company doesn't really care about that phone.

so Android and palm pre plus have the same multitask capabilities?

this is what palm pre can do..

Multitasking and notifications
If there's one area where the Palm Pre holds the edge over the current iPhone, G1, and other smartphones, it's in its multitasking and notification capabilities. The much-talked-about Deck of Card feature works well, letting you keep multiple applications open and running in the background while working in another. Like on a computer, you can minimize and maximize tasks by using the center button and swiping through the various cards. In addition, the aforementioned quick-launch bar makes menu access and launching new apps a snap.

It's not just WebOS ability to multitask, it's the way it's implemented. The implementation is graceful and intuitive. It is very easy to open another app todo something and then switch back to the first. Closing an app is as simple as touching it and "throwing"it off the screen. I just wish the hardware were up to par. Then Palms new phones would be contenders.

that sucks...well hopefully this incredible comes with an incredible way to save on some battery...either way im still loving this phone

Seidio makes a 1600 mah battery for nexus one that fits with original battery door. They also make 3200 mah battery that makes the phone a little thicker. Hopefully they will produce something for the incredible. 1600 would be nice if it fits without making phone thicker. 3200 would be some awesome power even if it did make phone thicker. Has anyone seen the mophie juice packs for the iPhone?? Why isn't there anything like that available for phones like the nexus one or the incredible when it comes?

Question regarding this post:

How does that work exactly?

1) If you disable sense on the incredible...would it essentially be an N1 OS wise?
- Would this make updates readily available?

2) If you were to disable sense on this already beastly phone, would it become i guess even more beastly since you wouldn't be using up extra processor needed to run sense?

I dig phones, but don't really get tech. I don't even know what the **** ram and ROM and SD cards are in regards to a phone...so just curious about these things. In laymen terms please...

thats ok, because I don't want ANYTHING that apple would do...btw i hate steve jobs with every fiber of my being :) nothing against you for not liking the looks of the incredible...everyone has their opinion. myself, I like the black back plate better and honestly prefer the red underneath (I love the way it shows just around the camera lens and the speaker grill). now would I prefer it to look like the desire? (absolutely!) will I buy it if it looks like the leaked pics? (in a heartbeat!)

Yes, I do believe there is a toggle option in the settings that you can switch from Sense to semi-vanilla Android (Droid Eris users do this)

Problem is, Sense is so integrated into the platform that you cannot FULLY get rid of it. There will ALWAYS be some element of Sense in the OS. I would assume, yes, you will get a slight increase in performance but probably nothing worth noting.

I would think with any larger aftermarket battery, you're going to need an aftermarket backplate due to the weird contour/shape of the original one. The original one seems to "fit just right" onto the back of the phone, and seems molded into that shape. This may not be a bad thing, as I'm sure some company will sell smooth, flat backplates which, abeit a little thicker, won't have the weird angles on it.

The Nexus One doesn't have an exclusive OS. Its the basic Android Operating System ( OS). Well for your first question I cant help you here cause I really dont know but it seems logical that would happen. Your second question tho Yes it would be even beastlier. Sense is just an application on android. Its just a layer on top of Android. That means the processor is working harder to run that extra application.

Do you understand those things when compared to computers? Its the exact same thing, essentially. RAM is the memory that is pulled when you need something done immediately (a la opening an app). This, with the addition of the processor, is more of the "performance" category.. how fast something happens (Hence the name Random Access Memory). Obviously, the more RAM, and the faster the processor, the faster something happens, thus better "performance."

ROM/flash memory is like the harddrive to your phone. The OS (Android) is stored within here, kind of like how MS Windows is stored on your harddrive. microSD cards are like the external harddrives to computers. They are extra storage spaces that you can plug into your phone to store things like photos and songs.

Question: Where did this quote you had in ^that^ post come from?

"Device Vendor Memory Lockdown [Pooled Memory Required] ROM:512MB Flash+8GB moviNAND
RAM: 512MB

Memory (RAM, FLASH) ROM:512MB Flash + 8GB moviNAND RAM:512MB"

Is that from one of the spec sheets you have that came with the phone that you've been referencing or what?

It's from the spec sheet put together on the phone.

I think Supraman21 is more worried about how fashionable the phone is than how well it functions. :D:rolleyes::D

Actually no I just prefer the all in one package. I dont want to pick up my phone everyday and say wth where they thinking when designing this. That type of stuff just bothers me. If I want style id go with the iPhone if I want functionality and better internal hardware id go with the Incredible. I want something that has both for it to really justify my purchase.

This thread is like heroin. I get the shakes when I can't get to a computer and update every 5 seconds or so. What's gonna happen when Incredible is released? Where will I get my fix? :D

Thanks Stericson, NKT and their moles for all the awesome info. I truly hope that no one gets in trouble - they've risked a lot to feed the seagulls (yes, we are no better than seagulls). :)

The most important question that hasn't been answered (or maybe it has), does the LED notification light on the Incredible do mutiple colors? :D

Honestly, I think once it comes out we will all be pleased. HTC isn't known for making butt ugly phones, right? I don't think they'll start now. At least it isn't shaped like that wacky Nokia swivel hinge thingy. Ugh on that one.

Seems like most people are overestimating what Sense is doing. Why would it take any more horsepower? I mean when the weather widgets drawing full screen stuff is just like a live wallpaper. The loader at the bottom of the screen isn't going to be any different processing wise except when you are moving between home screens. Even then it isn't doing much drawing wise. Most of sense is their widgets which while very pretty don't seem to be doing much except pulling data from the internet and displaying that info. If you disable sense you just get stock android, at probably the exact same speed. You just lose the extra pretty.

That was perfect, thanks bro

I'm actually hoping someone will make a backplate that smooths out the rear of the phone. I don't know if I'm completely sold on the weird shape. I understand the reasons behind it, I just don't know if I love it. Don't get me wrong, I'm getting the phone no questions but if someone makes a backplate that is flat and it just so happens to cover up a bigger battery, for me, that's a win-win.
