Root Brick Prevention Methods.

Transfusiionz

George Carlin FTW!
I've been seeing a lot of threads lately about people messing up their Esteems'. Here are a few tips to help prevent having to do a painful amount of work.

First:ALWAYS keep exitrecovery.zip on your sd card.

Second:ALWAYS keep a verified working ROM on your sd card.

Third:READ INSTRUCTIONS! The developers know what they are doing. They post instructions to help make sure people don't brick their 300$ piece of hardware.

Fourth:Make SURE that the rom/theme you are installing is designed for your software version(zva, zvb, zvc, zvd) If you're not sure, ASK! That's what forums are for right?

Fifth:Don't be stupid, use common sense. Alot of teens think they won't get cancer from smoking because they think it can't happen to them, IT WILL.
If a theme says it's for a different software version, DON'T CHANCE IT!

Six:ALWAYS! ALWAYS! Make a backup and keep it safe! This is extremely important! It only takes 5 minutes and it can save you money/time, not to mention a huge pain in the ***...

Hope this helps some of the newer people here.

Nice job.

Sad thing is someone will post a problem by the end of the night and not even know about this.

Yea, i wiped data and I didn't have a backup or anything. it was hell lol, took me soo long to set up lgnpst to reinstall zvb, after that, i always keep backups and all that on my sd card. saved me multiple times lol, but i still have the program set up just in case ;)

Good tips.. Another one is to get a micro sd reader / adapter for your PC.. They come in handy if you can't download to your phone for some reason or another..

Also copy your backup to your PC..
