Maybe jellybeans, Kappy ;)

Here's why the launch could be the 27th or prior to Easter Weekend:

1) Final Four April 3 and April 5
2) MLB Opening Night April 5 8pm
3) MLB Opening Day April 6
4) The Masters April 5-April 11 (including practice rounds)

Just my opinion, but how much better of a launch period can you get??

So does anybody know someone who works for an ad agency or network who might be scheduling the commercials who would know if there are any Verizon commercials for the Incredible that could let us know about...

Nah, just kidding.

Sorry but I have to say this then I'm done because I'm officially hoping on the HD2 bandwagon.

There is No WAY the Incredible will be out by the 27th, every HTC phone that has been released thus far has been on HTC's website for some time before launch with detailed pics and specs...there is no mention of the HTC Incredible anywhere on HTC's site. This phone is either still in the testing phase or is finishing up with testing. I realize that the testers that were on this forum sent their test units back but they are just a few of possibly 100 testers (I don't know how many testers there are).

Same as the Supersonic...no mention of it either because it's known that it's still a few months from releasing. The HD2 will not be out until the 24th and there it is on their front page.

If I currently had a phone to tide me over I could possibly wait for the Incredible but I believe it will launch in May and I can't wait that long.

Apparently there was talk that Verizon was trying to keep all the info under wraps because of their current strong push with the Droid. I personally hope that you're wrong, but reality and the lack of any confirmation thus far on the 27th has me leaning in favor with what you've just stated.

I can see why the HD2 is attractive - especially considering it was confirmed yesterday that it will hit on the 24th.

eh too small of a population, good point. If it was more widely recognized, then maybe?

If it was Nov. and this was rumored to be released around December, then I could picture it being released right before Christmas since many people celebrate Christmas whether they are Christians or not, but Easter....well....I don't want to get into religion but it's not really considered a "big holiday" to most people, especially considering the large religious diversity out there. It is a nice thought though because it would mean the release is soon if it doesn't in fact launch on the 27th. Any 30 day or less launch time frame would work for me, but the sooner, the better!

At least give it until the CTIA!

Though you may think it sounds credible and makes sense. Theres still a large possibililty that the phone will be released on March 27th. Especially if we are getting multiple confirmations from VZW reps about a march 27th release date. Though the trend may seem reasonable theres still a high percentage of a chance that it can get released without them putting the phone on their website.

Eh? Since when is a creepy egg-laying rabbit breaking into your house, laying candy coated brown-stuff filled eggs (ew...) and convincing everyone pastels are necessary Christian? Okay, yeah, I know the roots, but lets face it, every marketer used Easter to peddle crap. It's become as secularized as Christmas

I see what you mean. I still don't know how Easter came to be a holiday about a rabbit delivering candy. How do you get that from a religious celebration......oh nevermind. I'm not going to go there. I'll get back on topic now. Release the damn phone already!

HTC's Press release for the Eris was Nov. 5th

Phone release was Nov. 6th

If anything this seems to confirm the model that announcement/release relationship for Verizon/HTC is a very small gap between the two.

Edit:

HTC Ozone announced June 25th

Available online June 29th.

Nah, just kidding.

That was actually a pretty decent idea. I have a buddy that is in charge of the local ABC affiliate's commercials. Although most of the sporting events that week will be on ESPN and CBS, I sent him a message regardless to see if they are able to see content on commercials before they are aired - specifically any Verizon commercials. I would think, however, that unless someone knows someone at the main network we won't hear anything. I think the national broadcast and commercials are controlled there via satellite, and the locals are only able to plug in their commercials in certain spots.

If anything this might bump up the announcement from Verizon. With all other carriers announcing a bad a** phone that might light a fire under VZW a** to hurry up and get it out there ASAP.

I definitely like that train of thought, but I kind of feel like Verizon has a "we're the best anyway, so we can take our sweet time" kind of attitude.

As Woodraskam mentioned, the Eris was not detailed at all on HTC's site until the last minute. Neither was the Imagio, or the TP2 for that matter but that phone is a carbon copy for each carrier. Still wasn't on HTC's site, listed for Verizon. You seemingly forget who you're talking about here. Verizon doesn't release details about their phones well in advance of release, period. It has nothing to do with HTC, or any other manufacturer. If you get a press release a week before the phone is released, consider yourself LUCKY.

soooooooo true. I love VZW service, but I feel they are arrogant as hell.

hence why I feel they are last when it comes to offering big time phones.

The TP2 was on HTC for a while before it was out the T-Mobile (first Version) was anyway...cause I bought it.

not only that, but insiders (at least from pocketnow) were adamant just days prior to that, that no hero-like device would be released on VZ ever. So things can be held under wraps that's for sure...

what do you guys think about this....

ctia will reveal some more technical info/specs about the phone and there will be hands on previews by websites like engadget, gizmodo, etc. An official announcement of when the phone will be released will be given there.

during the next couple weeks of all the sports (march madness, golf, etc) and easter there will be advertising all over the place about the incredible.

finally the release date will be reached and we will all be happy (around april 13th or so...my original guess).

i think the general public wont even notice anything regarding ctia...but we and all the techy people will. Then the general public will get all their info later seeing the commercials on tv and the radio.

just my idea.

I'd say the FCC listing of the Incredible bodes well for a release sooner rather than later vs the Supersonic. You can show it off and wave it around all you want at a trade show. Without FCC approval, the Supersonic is not hitting the stores anytime soon. But in contrast to Verizon, this is what Sprint does. They gave people a 5 week heads-up on their HTC Hero back in the Fall with a full press release, spec details, and pre-orders. Think of it as a lead dog vs trailing dog mentality.

This is quite possibly one of the most encouraging posts of late. I guess I didn't realize how tight they played it in the past.

Personally, I have a little hope for some kind of announcement on the 19th. If nothing happens then, I still have hope for CTIA. If nothing then, I'm going to stop by Sprint and camp out until they give me a Supersonic. :p
