Play Store now selling GSM GNex Accessories, and at more reasonable prices too.

Yep, but apparently it doesn't work with the Verizon version. :(

Looks like maybe the car dock is compatible with the VZW Nexus with a small modification. Read through this thread (maybe even some pics coming soon from user dB Zac on the mod) and see what a VZW Nexus user discovered

The reviews of the car dock is that it is exceptionally tight on the GSM GNex, does not sound promising for the VZW version. However it may be possible to pull a Frankenstein and merge a VZW car dock with the pogo pins from the GSM one.

edit: Looks like I was wrong on this one, the car dock will work, except the place for the volume rocker doesn't match, so you will need to trim a little of the dock to make it fit...

Looks like the landscape desktop dock is compatible with the VZW Nexus with a small modification. Read through this thread (maybe even some pics coming soon from user dB Zac on the mod) and see what a VZW Nexus user discovered. I don't know about the car dock.

Maybe I'm just extrapolating incorrectly, but wouldn't the volume rocker not be an issue on the landscape dock since it would be upwards in the air, thus meaning he was talking about the car dock?

Probably so. I glanced at the thread and figured "landscape" since the portrait dock is micro USB and most would want the pogo pinned dock.

Edit: yup you are correct I edited my first reply to the correction of the car dock. Looks like landscape desk dock would take heavy modification to make it work with the lte nexus. ;)

I am considering biting the bullet and buying the car dock. I'm pretty sure Verizon/Samsung won't release the car dock version. Even if they do, it will probably follow their landscape dock and be ridiculously overpriced in comparison.

Car dock seems useless to me, my calls go through speakerphone rather then my car speakers..

When I plug the 3.5mm into my phone directly rather then dock the sound for everything comes through my speakers.

I wish there was more stuff available for the cdma version.

Can anyone explain to me the logic behind the HDMI dock? If you connect it to a monitor, the phone auto-orients to landscape making it awkward to use since the dock is portrait.

Wondering the exact same thing myself. Maybe I don't understand how it works

I think the expectation is that the dock will be used more often with bluetooth stereo connections for phone calls. I am guessing that if there is no bluetooth connection, the 'car app' defaults to speakerphone - which makes sense to me.
Thus, the problem isn't the dock itself, but that when the phone is in speakerphone mode, it doesn't feed phone audio to the headphone jack. You can try it yourself by plugging in headphones while in speakerphone mode. No audio is fed to the headphones.

If you want phone audio to come through the headphone jack and thus to your car speakers, you would need to turn off speakerphone mode.

Sorry I'm a bit confused..

My Jeep patriot has the uconnect Bluetooth setup on the dash but its not active (I don't have the Bluetooth mirror from Chrysler).

So how would I turn off speakerphone mode and make my calls come through my speakers? Otherwise I may as well sell the dock and buy a generic mount and just plug my wall charger and 3.5mm direct into phone as that puts everything through my car speakers.

Thanks

Does your music go through the car speakers when it is on the dock, and the dock is plugged up to the car?

Yes if I plug 3.5 from dock base into aux port on CD player the music does play through car speakers.

I don't have a dock, but while your phone is in the dock, go to settings/dock/dock audio, and see if there is a setting in there to affect where the audio is played for phone calls.

Gah, was really hoping it would be compatible with my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Any ideas on why they haven't released accessories for this model? I really want that car dock.

I was wrong, apparently the car dock will work, you just need to trim a little around the volume rocker, and install an apk to fix an outgoing volume bug, and you are good to go.

When I tried this the top option was greyed out and unclickable. Only option is to have a sound played when docking...

Any other ideas to get my phone calls to come through my car speakers? Kind of a deal breaker to me and I find it odd this works when I use the phones audio in but not when using the docks.

Are you on stock 4.0.2? Because mine is not greyed out on my phone, even though its not docked... It just gives me a pop up saying I am not docked when I press it...

I'm stock 4.0.4 GSM

Its even greyed out when not docked...

It says audio but its unclickable.

I believe you. That's strange. I wish I had the cash to burn right now on one to try it out myself. The only thing I wonder is if I have the option because I am rooted...

I'd just like to know if its faulty or not

Expansys is offering to refund or replace and if others have the same issue I'll just take a refund and buy a generic mount and run my 3.5 and wall charger right into my phone.

Just got my car dock from the Play store.

I've heard people say the Verizon GNex is tight in the GSM dock. I have to say that the GSM Gnex is very tight in the GSM dock! If there is a way to get the phone into the dock without messing with the buttons, I haven't figured it out yet. The docked mode doesn't work the same as it did on the N1. On the N1, it triggered a completely different interface. On the GNex, it seems to just put the home screen into landscape mode, nothing else. Also, as stated elsewhere by another user, audio options in the dock menu seem to be greyed out. I don't think car dock mode is set-up properly for the GNex yet if I had to guess.

I expected to have to take off any cases of any sort so no surprise there for me. (I'm baffled by those who don't understand having to remove their case to use an OEM dock. Seems very silly to me.) The one thing that seems better than my N1 with its dock is that voice recognition is far better. It's a night and day difference. I had to remove my N1 from the dock before it would translate what I was saying.

Overall, I have to say this is a horrible car dock.

You have to install the 'car home' apk to get that mode. I think one is posted over in the XDA forums if not somewhere in this thread.
